"Proceed to the next floor. We're sending backup in." James nodded to me.
I grabbed the phone, both teams were on standby. "George, Hayden, it's a go. Team Bravo, converge on the building and meet up with Team Alpha. Nathan, Carrie and Team Charlie spilt up and guard the entrances; no one gets in or out."
"We'll be there in two minutes," George said.
"Copy that, we're surrounding the building now," Carrie said.
I hung up the phone. "Two minutes and Team Bravo will be there, Jeff."
"We're going up."
I listened as Pete and Jeff made their way to the room on the fourth floor. There was a splintering and cracking of wood, followed by rapid gunfire. A few minutes passed, there was shouting and more footsteps along with gunfire as Team Bravo entered the room.
"Suspect is escaping! Down the fire escape along the east side of the building. I'm going after!" Pete yelled above the noise.
"Copy that. Carrie get your team ready. Corner him. Do NOT let him escape. Do NOT shoot to kill, he may know something if he's running," James said.
"We're moving now," Carrie replied.
I pulled up the building map. "It won't be hard to corner him. That side of the building is part of an alley that leads out only one way," Keith said.
"Good, Amanda, stay on top of that." James said. I nodded.
The gunfire stopped. "Jeff, Hayden? Have the hostiles been taken out?" Keith asked "Two hostiles are down, one is injured, and we need medical in here now! Agent Daughtery has been hit!" Hayden said.
Keith grabbed the phone and sent medical in. "They're coming. Where has he been hit?"
"In the chest just above the vest. I'm stanching the blood flow. It's bad."
"What about the hostiles?" James asked.
"One hostile has been shot in the stomach, one in the leg, and the other has a flesh wound," George replied.
"I want those who can be brought back here. We are setting up the interrogation rooms." James motioned to Keith who jumped up and ran off to carry out the order.
"Copy that," George replied. James then walked over to the IT stations and began giving orders to set up video and audio feeds in the holding rooms.
I waited for Pete or Carrie to respond. "Pete? What's going on?"
"The hostile just surrendered. He fired at me and I had to stop pursuit. But when he saw Team Charlie and the dead end, he gave up."
