Shades of Deception - Page 43/118

She tried to figure out how she missed all of the warning signs. She considered herself an intelligent and astute woman. So how could she have missed all of the shenanigans that were going on right under her nose?

But, the biggest bombshell came when she discovered how much money Ted and his perverted sisters got from the sale of her house. It was a windfall of seven million dollars!

It took almost a month for the shock and anger to wear off. There was not much more Marsha could have done. Wallowing or crying was not going to bring her house or the money back. It was now time for her to leave the Bahamas. She got a flight out on a Sunday afternoon and landed in New York late that evening.

Before she stepped off the plane, the talk about her financial mess was traveling around town faster than a speeding bullet.

It was the opinion of many that, "Marsha was in a state of unconsciousness while she was married to Ted. What other logical explanation was there that allowed her husband to clean out her trust fund, steal her house and make a seven figure profit from the sale?"

Her parents did not get whiff of the news right away, because they were on a cruise. They predicted the marriage would fail but never imagined their daughter would end up penniless and homeless.

When Marsha's parents returned from their trip, the scandal hit them like a flash of lightning. Being too humiliated, Marsha would not go into any details with her mom and dad. Since living in her Brooklyn apartment was no longer affordable, she asked if she could move back in with them.

Her parents said yes and were as happy as two squirrels eating a ton of peanuts.

Marsha was steadfast; she never wanted to discuss what her ex-husband and sister-in-laws had done to her.

Her parents agreed, because everyone in Stuyvesant Heights had already filled them in as to what really took place in the Bahamas.
