Shades of Deception - Page 80/118

It was numerically and humanly impossible for Mark to have been the father, because Keisha got pregnant while he was away at school.

After the baby was born, a blood test proved that Hank was the biological father.

The fact that Keisha had betrayed Mark was bad enough, but to have slept with his best friend was the ultimate disloyalty.

Mark filed for an annulment and went back to school to finish his studies.

A month later, Keisha and Hank got married, and the couple along with their infant daughter left New York for parts unknown. Mark never saw or heard from them again.

He often thought about the couple and wondered if they were still together but concluded, if Keisha cheated on him, she was probably unfaithful to Hank.

It was now getting late. He logged off his computer and turned in for the night.

It has been a week since Mark posted his profile on the social network. It was Saturday morning and snow had started to fall. He decided to stay in for the day and went on his computer to see if there were any responses to his posting. He received an e-mail with an attached photo.

The message read as follows:

My name is Misty, and your personal ad really touched me. I am 25 years old and very outgoing with a dynamic personality. I enjoy having fun, traveling, cooking and reading. Age is nothing but numbers, so the fact that you are in your 50s is a complete turn-on to me, because I love being spoiled and pampered by an older man. I am a licensed cosmetologist and plan to open my own spa shortly. After looking at your photo, it is hard to believe that you are over 50. You do not look a day over 30. Meeting and getting to know you would be my pleasure. I am temporarily residing in Arizona and planning to move soon. Looking forward to hearing from you. Bye and be well.

After reading that e-mail and looking at her photo, someone could have hit Mark over the head with a cast iron pan, and he would have never felt the pain. He started to feel like a teenager, having his first crush. To say he was not smitten with Misty's beauty would have been a false proclamation.

She had the face of an angel and a body that could make a man's head twirl, even if his cranium was stuck in cement. Just from that snapshot alone, he knew she was the woman for him. There was no doubt about it. She was going to be his partner for life.
