"Girlfriend, I think it's great!" Robin Aldridge exclaimed. One of

Maddy's classmates from her Unity manifestation course, Robin had been

part of her prayer circle, a placement that had resulted in a beautiful

friendship. For Robin, it had been all the more meaningful given the fact

that she was a recent transplant to the Sunshine State. Delightfully

satisfied after a healthy meal by the pool, the women now sat around

chatting, while a pleasant breeze blew in off of the lake.

"It is kind of interesting," Maddy admitted. "All these weeks of

praying for my perfect soul mate, the absolute right man for me and it

turns out to be Kenny? I never would have guessed that in a million years!"

"I still can't believe you never told any of us about him!" Elyse noted.

"That's because I truly did block him out, Elyse. Except for a few

fleeting moments over the years, it was as if he never existed at all. It's

really scary to think how powerful the mind can be; but I should know

that better than anyone after what I went through."

"So Maddy, when are you going to call him?" Audrey asked.

"As soon as I find a cell number. Ann had said I should call his house

number and pretend to be an old friend from high school. But I am not

the kind of girl that can play those sorts of games. It's just not in my

nature."

"Me, either," Elyse agreed. "If you can't find a cell number, though,

what are you going to do?"

"I honestly don't know," she replied.

"Well, Maddy I believe the answers will come to you," Robin

proclaimed. "Look, you've been faithfully doing all of the homework

assignments from class-the treasure mapping, volunteering your time to

charity, getting up early so you can meditate and participating in our

prayer circle. I have to believe that this is a sign for you. And what's the

worst that can happen? You find out he's staying married? So what? At

least you'll have a chance to start anew either way."

"That's a good point," Madeline concurred. "One thing's for sure; I

do have to take action. Whatever unfolds after that is up to God. I just

hope He gives me the strength to accept whatever His will might be for

this relationship."

"I have no doubt that God will do that for you," Carolyn added.

"And no matter what happens, you'll always have us."

A choked up Maddy smiled at them even as she offered a silent prayer

of thanks for all of the good people in her life.
