The Hostage - Page 2/28

He came out in jeans, a blue shirt, and a dark blue jacket. He hugged me and I held onto him. "Be careful," I whispered.

He pulled back and took my face in his hands. "I will." I kissed him, tears in my eyes. "Hey, what's the matter?"

I shook my head and shrugged. "I don't know. I just kinda feel like my emotions are getting the best of me right now...I guess."

He put one hand on my stomach. "Ah, now I get it."

I put my hand over his. "You think that's it?"

He scratched the side of his face. "Yeah."

I smiled and so did he. "Love you."

"Love you too."

He walked off and I headed back to the floor to help Amy run comm.

"We're here," Keith radioed in.

I pulled up the information on the hotel. The building plans and hotel security camera footage popped up on the computer screen. "All right, we suspect that the hostiles are planting the bomb in the basement. We checked hotel cameras and four repairmen entered the building twenty minutes ago. Hotel manager says it's to fix a broken pipe, but he may be in on it too."

"Copy that. We're heading to the basement, get Bomb Squad on standby," Keith replied.

Fifteen minutes had passed without a word from either Keith or Pete. I sat silently waiting as I absentmindedly played with a pen; twirling it between my fingers.

"Four hostiles have been taken out, Nahir isn't here," Pete radioed in. I dropped the pen.

"There's a bomb, get the Bomb Squad in here, we have less than thirty minutes before this thing goes off," Keith added. I sighed with relief when I heard his voice.

I signaled Amy to alert the Bomb Squad and she nodded. "Copy that. The Bomb Squad is heading in. Take the other agents and start an immediate evacuation of the hotel," I said. I leaned over and picked up the pen.

"Right, there are five floors, Pete and I will take the last two."

I helped set up an evacuation plan and ordered different agents to different floors. "Let's not start a panic, just tell everyone it's an emergency and get them out," I said into the comm.

"Copy that," Jeff said.

I listened and helped with the evacuation of the first four floors. There were over a hundred and fifty people in the hotel, but the operation went smoothly as the agents and SWAT ordered people out.
