"Yes, men get into trouble when things aren't going their way. Sometimes it's a trouble that could affect them the rest of their lives. So, be very careful with him, sugar." Winola remarked.

"Where is Spellman? Vedella asked.

"He's at the office. He should be arriving soon. The first place he will head is to the kitchen." Winola answered.

"That's our Spellman. Once his nose is in the kitchen the other gentlemen follows." Dixie replied.

"Well ladies, let's make a check of the dining room and get dressed." Winola said.

The Dinner The guests were arriving and drinks were handed to everyone entering the door. The servants escorted everyone to the dining room.

"Little ladies, this is a magnificent feast. I'll have to hire you." Vance commented playfully.

Vance had been introduced to their families and friends. They loved him from the moment he opened his mouth. His sooth mannerisms were well accepted. He fitted right in like an old relative. He put everyone at ease.

"Spellman, pass the ham. You can't keep it for yourself, man." Vance joked.

"I will pass the ham if you pass the fried chicken down this way." Spellman joked.

Vedella knew Vance had found him a new friend. Both of the men had similar qualities. They both liked people.

"Wait a minute. I can't have the two of you taking possession of the meat. I want to be on your team. Have you heard of the three musketeers quote; one for all and all for one? Vedella's father asked.

Vedella smiled. She knew that Vance had made a hit with her father.

"The two of you were enough. Now we have three." Georgianna remarked.

"Honey, let them have their way. We'll never win. Vedella's mother teased.

"Would anyone like some pie? Winola asked.

"Yes, little lady. I'll take a pie." Vance joked.

"If he has a whole pie I would like one too." Spellman joked.

"That makes three." Vedella's father joined in on the fun.

"I will ignore the gentlemen and bring the ladies a slice of pie." Winola replied.

Everyone had a nice laugh.

Dinner was over and everyone had coffee and took their drinks outside. Spellman took Vance and gave him a tour of the property.

Vedella's father took her arm and led her aside.

"You have found a very good man, my dear. I'm proud of you. Don't let him get away." Her father stated.

"Thank you father because I like him too." Vedella replied.
