Custody Battle - Page 66/86

"I thought she deserved to know."

"What is wrong with you? Do you enjoy making people's lives complicated?"

Rose thought about it for a minute. She was fifty eight years old. She had no husband and no real friends and there were so many parties she could attend before getting bored. Her sons were all grown up and didn't need her that much, if they ever did. She had nothing to live for. For years now she has been going to bed hoping and praying that she wouldn't wake up but she always did. Then Tumi had met Sindi and fallen in love with her. She had known then that she had outlived her purpose in life. With her sons falling love, she would no longer be the only woman in their lives and soon they will forget her. At first she had just wanted to give Sindi a hard time, let her know that she was the boss. She had nothing against the girl, not until she realized that her son didn't love her the way a man should love a woman. Not the way her husband had loved her. Joseph Motsepe would have done anything for her. He would have given up his life for her. And her son knew nothing about that kind of love. To him Sindi had been just another pretty girl. Why the hell he had married her, she didn't know. It's not as if he ever tried to defend her. Tumi had stood back and allowed Rose to make Sindi's life horrible and when the girl announced that she was pregnant, Rose couldn't take it anymore. The girl deserved better. Every girl deserved a man who would fight for her. That was the lesson she had tried to teach Sindi.

"Don't you want to know what she said?" Rose asked. Her sons didn't understand her. The only man who had been able to understand her was dead and she missed him so much it hurt.

"It doesn't matter what she said. Do you have any idea what you just did?" Tebogo was so angry he wanted to hit her; instead he went back to the window.

"She loves you too." She told him not worried about his temper. He had never hit a woman in his life and he wasn't going to start with her. She stood up and joined him by the window. "She is crazy about you, so crazy she would do anything for you." Tebogo looked at her, his eyes unreadable.

"What is that supposed to mean?"
