Man Up - Page 109/268

"Na, we've always known. C'mon, Lisa is waiting for us." Markus reminded him that his wife and their baby boy were outside waiting to leave for Dinah's engagement party. Both of them got up and together they headed out of the office and to Dinah's party.

"This is nice…" Jayden reluctantly admitted. The House of Conscious was nothing like she had described. It was more, much-much more. It was twice as large as his place; maybe a 1000 sq ft. or more. There was a section that was a bookstore; a section that was a lounge where one could sit, read and enjoy a cup of coffee or cappuccino with a sweet roll or muffin. There was another small lounge that was filled with portable card and game tables each with four chairs attending to them. On each table was a board game like, Monopoly, Twister, Battleship, Connect Four, Chess, Pinochle, Checkers and more. Then there was a small auditorium with a small staging area complete with sound and lighting where performances were held. Jayden saw at least two or three sets of real African Djembe and Ashiko[iv] drum sets.

"Think I'm going to have to stop by and get my beat on…" He teased as he started heading towards the drums that were slightly hidden by the stage curtain.

"Do you even know how to beat?" She asked.

"What's to know?" He said cockily as he began randomly beating on the drums to his own rhythm and groove.

"Ow… Ow… Ow…" He was soon yelping in pain as his hands began stinging. Mia released a soft feminine laugh that seemed to catch the wind out from Jayden's own lungs; it was contagious. He found his own breathing pausing as he was mesmerized by her sweet womanly laughter.

"That's what you get for trying to show off. Let a real expert show you." She teased as she got upon the stage and stood behind one of the drum sets. It was then that Jayden noticed the strap attached to each drum as she was harnessing herself within it. She then sat in a chair and positioned the drum sturdily between the junction of her thighs.

Ba-ta-ta Ba-ta-ta Ba-ta-ta Ba-ta-ta - Her hands moved like greased lightning against the goat skin head of the drum making an easy rhythmic melody that had Jayden thumping his feet to. Mia's head jerked and bobbed this way and that as she allowed herself to get lost into the beat that was vibrating within her and freely flowing through her wrists, hands, knuckles and fingertips. The woman had skills.
