Man Up - Page 146/268

"Then sudden the bitch-ass left the store without buying anything and mumbling about tuxedos." Jayden finally finished and Avery detected that his friend was not only drunk but also on the verge of crying.

"Man my old man hates me. Why does he hate me so bad? What did I ever do to him?" Jayden whined and then began crying.

"Okay I see you've had enough to drink." He said getting up and propping his friend up leaning him against his own body for support. With a little difficulty, Avery was able to stagger out with his friend and get him into the passenger seat of his SUV. He figured that Jayden would just have to pick up his car tomorrow.

"What happened?" Nita asked as Avery collapsed on the sofa with a sleeping and drunk Jayden.

"His Pops came by his shop and didn't acknowledge him…" Avery explained.

"What? His Pops?" Mia couldn't help but asking after overhearing their conversation.

"Hey Mia… Nita can explain… I've got work in the morning… Night Mia… See you later baby…" He said giving his girl a kiss and then leaving them alone in the kitchen.

"You're leaving him here?" Mia asked after Avery had excused himself. Nita went to the linen closet pulling out a pillow and a blanket.

"It's nothing; he's always crashing here after a night of drinking and whoring around. Jayden has some abandonment issues that he won't admit to when it comes to his father. He's like a lost puppy" she explained as she covered him up and then lifted up his head and slipped the pillow underneath.

"C'mon let's go back to the kitchen. We can talk there." She said leading the way. Mia followed behind bringing the second bottle of wine with her. She filled her glass and sipped at it slowly as Nita began telling his story.

"To make a long story short, basically Jayden's father never acknowledged being his father and his mother had to file a paternity suit. Once they got that established, he never went back and filed the proper papers to get his name put on the birth certificate or had anything to do with him. Jayden has practically spent his entire life trying to have a relationship with his father only to be rejected time after time."

"Really?"

"Yup… But the worse thing happened when I think Jayden was around fourteen or fifteen years old and he found out that his father had married and adopted his wife's two children." Mia could not hide her reaction to hearing his story. She felt so sorry and sad for him that she almost felt like he was deserving of some pity pussy. His story was just that pitiful.
