"Nurse Davenport…" he answered and the doctor scribbled some notes in his charts.

"What about the year?" He asked while studying him.

"Hmm…" Mr. Ellis mulled it over rubbing his chin as he thought about it.

"Hmm… maybe two-thousand-o-four or five…" He guessed.

"Close… It's 2008… We're going to send you to the hospital for some tests…" He explained to Jacob as he wrote on his chart.

"Tests… why?"

"We're going to check your brain functions and see what's going on with you."

"Notify his family or next of kin." He told the nurse as they exited his room.

Jayden woke up to the buzzing sound of his cell phone. He opened his eyes and then reclosed them again as the bright sunlight shining through the opened curtains nearly blinded him. He blinked and blinked again and then shielded his eyes trying to remember where he was. Nothing looked familiar and then he remembered he had spent the night over Mia's house. He looked over to his right and she was curled up against him sleeping peacefully in the crook of his arm. Then his phone buzzed again and he remembered why he had suddenly awakened.

"Hello…" he said with a hoarse voice.

"Yea… This is Jayden Townsend… What?" He exclaimed suddenly sitting up allowing Mia's head to drop back unto the pillow underneath. That was all Mia needed. Feeling her head suddenly jerking downward instantly woke her up.

"Mr. Ellis mind is coming back? Are you serious?" He said somewhat shakily at what that meant. Hearing his words Mia sat up beside him listening.

"Okay… he's going for test and you want me to accompany him." Jayden flipped his phone down and sat in the bed wordless. Mia sat there watching him trying to get a hint of what he was feeling.

"Are you okay?" She softly asked and Jayden shook his head no. She leaned her head against his shoulder and sat quietly beside him again.

"Would you like for me to come to?" she asked but he didn't respond. He wasn't sure if he wanted that. He didn't know how the meeting was going to go or how he would react. What if his father really did recognize him? What would he say? How would he feel about him?

"I'm not sure Mia… I don't know what to expect…" He told her honestly.
