"Okay, that's that…" He said dusting his hands off on his jeans as he stood back up.
"Thanks…" Jacob quietly said as he tucked himself under the covers.
"Ah… the control panel is here. You push this button for on and off and this dial here controls the temperature…" Jayden patiently explained.
"I'll remember…" Jacob said watching his son.
"Okay then… Got you squared away, I guess I better head on up and open up the shop. When you get better, you can come with me maybe next week and spend the day with me…"
"I'll like that… A change of scenery would be nice." Jacob agreed.
"Take care and see you later… Kay Pops."
"Jayden…"
"Yea?" Jayden answered turning back around to see his father.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure Pops what is it?"
"What did I do… I mean why…" Jacob was embarrassed and had trouble putting his question into words. However Jayden knew what he was trying to ask. He smiled at his father.
"Like it or not… you're still my Pops… Besides someone who loves me is very grateful to you for making me" Jayden said remembering Mia's words over a year ago.
"For what it's worth…" he started and then hesitated.
"Yea Pops…"
"For what it's worth… thank you… Thank you for growing up to be the man that I couldn't be when you needed me the most. Thank you for that son."

"Mia…"
"Hmm?"
"Is it time yet?"
"It's only been a minute… we have to wait two more…"
"Mia…"
"Hmm?"
"Is it time yet?"
"Jayden… Go… go outside and wait with dad downstairs…" She said pushing him out of her bedroom and locking the door. Jayden walked downstairs where Skip nervously was pacing around in anticipation.
"Well?" he questioned.
"She says it's going to be a couple more minutes…" He said sitting down on the sofa.
"Damn, I haven't been this nervous since Mia's mom told me she thought she was pregnant… Never saw this one coming…"
"What's taking so long… two minutes should be up by now right?" Jayden nervously asked.
"Relax… We'll know when we know…" Skip said patting him on the back.
