Five Years Later...

It was a beautiful spring day, Candee was sitting on the patio holding seven month old Jamie her bouncing baby boy, while keeping a watchful eye on his big sister, who was now watering the flowers in the window boxes of her very own playhouse which was a replica of the main house and took up a large space in their expansive yard.

Marie is five years old now, and she is an extraordinary child, her parents noticed from early on, how she was developing in her intelligence at a rapid pace, by six months old she was using words in a clear and precise manner, by a year old putting words into sentences, and in no time at all she took the story books from her mother's hands and began reading for herself.

In the fall she would not be going to kindergarten, as a five year old would do, because everyone knew she would be terribly bored, and so she would go right into first grade, because she was now sneaking books from her parents library, or thought she was, because it seemed she craved knowledge and soaked it up like a sponge.

Candee and Starke realized early on that she was special and was destined for some kind of greatness in her life, and all they needed to do was be there for her and guide her along her path.

Jamie was adorable and a happy baby, and Starke was thrilled that he now had a son and a perfect family, his mother was a doting grandmother to his children, and she was much loved by all of the family.

Candee saw Julie walking towards her then having come along the well worn path, through the wooded area that separated their properties at the rear. It was Sunday and every ones day off, Katie who was now seven was skipping alongside of her and darted off to the play house to be with her very best friend in the whole wide world as both girls were heard saying often enough, by their parents. And of course the parents were delighted. Katie had her special playmate, and even though they were two years apart in age give or take a few months, with Marie being so advanced, they were very compatible friends and would hopefully always be.

Then Candee's thoughts were put aside as Julie said, hi, and sat down along side of her, reaching over to gently brush the baby's head, he had dozed off.

I wonder how the guys are doing. Julie asks, "Oh, I would imagine by now they are digging into the picnic baskets we fixed up for them, and having a grand time out on the lake, it's a beautiful day for fishing."
