The phone rang then, Starke got it, '"lo? Oh, hey bro, nah, not really, yeah, okay, see yaw then, click. He turned to see his wife had a puzzled look on her face, "it was Cam, he wanted to know if we discovered anything important missing, and he said, he, Julie and Katie would ride up tomorrow, the boys are meeting friends at the mall and are going take in a movie." "Good Marie will love having Katie here, she will be surprised."

They woke early as was customary for Candee and Starke when at the cabin and they went through their usual routine, they knew the deer would be there every morning when they were in residence looking for their treats, and some companionship from their human friends, they would never disappoint them.

When their visit with them was over, they walked back to sit on the porch for awhile drinking their coffee, enjoying the beauty and quiet of the morning. "Do you have any idea what went on here?" she asked, "you mean the break in?" "Yes" "I'm sorry sweetheart; I really don't have a clue." 'But then that's really Cameron's job, and I'm counting on him." "I see," she said."

It was true Starke could not have known that while the intruder was in the cabin, a sinister plot was forming in his sick, revengeful mind, or that he was at his own rundown shack of a cabin this very minute, convincing his longtimegirlfriend to go along with his plan and to help him carry it out.

Candee stood then, "I'm going to go in now and mix up some batter for pancakes, because the kids will be waking up soon, and I promised, Marie last night when I tucked her in bed, that we'd have pancakes this morning." "I heard, she told me when I kissed her goodnight."

Candee was into her task, when her daughter walked into the kitchen, still rubbing her eyes, "are we having pancakes mommy?" we sure are honey, has your brother woken up? Marie nodded her head up and down, 'uh huh," " she set the spoon down, scooped her child into her arms and said, "well let's go fetch him then, and wash the sleep out of your eyes." and she walked down the hallway, to the room the children shared.

They had finished their breakfast, cleaned up and all were dressed, when they heard the toot toot of a horn, Marie ran to the door yanked it open and shouted with glee, it's Katie, it's Katie my best friend in the whole world! She didn't hear her mom and dad laughing as she ran out onto the porch, then as Cameron and Julie entered the cabin, they heard the giggles and laughter of the two girls outside obviously very happy to be together again.
