He said "let's go in and see what mom is up to," so they took their cups and plate of brownies inside. Anne was no longer in the kitchen but they heard the faint sounds of voices coming from the TV in the living room so they went in to find her sitting in a chair with her feet on an ottoman, looking at the TV but at the same time crocheting, something white and lacy, Candee asked her what is that you're working on?, it looks very pretty, Anne said ''I'm crocheting snowflakes for my Christmas tree," this year, and she reached into her bag and pulled a few out, Candee marveled at them because they were each one unique, different pattern, different size, how pretty she said. Anne said," it takes dozens to cover a 7' tree so I work on them all year long, and then when they are finished all must be highly starched."
Starke then said, "Candee if you're ready we'll be getting on home, tomorrow is a work day, and I know we've had a full weekend." Mom thanks for a great dinner as usual, and he leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek, and Candee surprised them both by doing the same and saying thank you, Anne patted her hand that had been resting on her shoulder.
