Never having had a real family, she'd never had that experience either. Then they said goodnight and he went back to the computer for a few more hours, because at night is when things really heated up on line, and he was getting a pretty good fix on this guy.
He saw "Demo Man" and "Big Red" was in one of the chat rooms but he left them alone and moved on, he sensed that things were progressing nicely there. He now knew that this guy he was after was local, and he placed a call to Cam, and Put him on the case, giving him what information he had so far and what he suspected this guy was into. Cam would decide if they made a bust and if it would be local or if they needed to bring the feds in on it.
Then Cam said, so buddy when are Julie and I going to get to meet this special lady or yours? Starke said you tell me, have you fired up that state of the art grill Julie got you for Your anniversary yet? Hey, buddy that sounds like a good idea for Saturday, do you think she'd like that, I'll let you know but I'm sure she would so let's plan on it, and they said their goodbyes.
He glanced at the clock and saw that it was only ten so he placed another to Candee, and told her about his conversation with Cam, and she said it sounded like fun, and she would love to meet them.
The weekdays plodded along as they usually do for Starke, he called Candee almost every evening, and they talked about their day, she told him about the new face at the newsstand that she stopped at each morning, mostly to check out the other papers, and rag magazines, and he told her what he had read in the paper about Chad, but then she told him on Wednesday he was back at the newsstand which as it turned out was his.
Candee also told him that Chad mentioned that he was now dating "Big Red" or Gloria from the Internet and that she was an angel as far as he was concerned, whatever that's about? she said, and laughed.
They talked about the upcoming cookout at Cameron's place on Saturday, and he told her a little about the family that she would be meeting, Cam and Julie have three children, a boy Kevin, he's nine, a second boy Kyle he's six, and a sweet little girl named Katie, and she's just four years old, and he is Godfather to all of them as well as uncle Starke. He jokingly calls them the three K' s. as in kids ... but Candee could tell he was bursting with love for them, for all of them, she couldn't wait to meet them, this was his family.
