Then he said, "Well old buddy, what you say we fire up that grill, I know I'm getting hungry as a bear," Julie said, "When are you ever not?" And they laughed again. She then walked over to the sandbox and handed Candee her ice tea, pulled a couple lawn chairs over and sat down to watch Katie, Candee joined her.
Candee said, " you have a lovely family Julie' "perfect actually" Julie said, "thank you" I think I'll keep them, Candee said, "I love the way the children's names all begin with K," was that planned? Only with the first we'd gone through the alphabet, and agreed on Kevin, then when the other two came along the names just followed and seem to fit them, your name is unusual, but you don't seem to use it, why is that? Candee then explained, that growing up in foster homes with many children's of all ages, they never seemed to be able to get her name right apparently, Candida is hard for a child to say and it always came out as Can' dee, not candy, so it just sort of stuck and I got so used to it, it's all I use, and I figured if l ever got married one day, I'd probably use either Candida then or Mrs. John Doe or whatever.
And you've never married? no, I've never even had a serious relationship, I always felt if I met the right person for me I would know it immediately, as in this strong feeling I have for Starke, since the moment we met, Julie laughed at that because of the conversation she'd had with him earlier, and Candee looked at her with a puzzled expression, Julie said, "I'm sorry it's just that I knew as soon as I saw you two together. Julie said, "I've heard you met Anne" Candee said, "yes, Anne with an e," Julie laughed at that, she said," I'm surprised she didn't say and Starke with an e. She's a wonderfully warm person, and all that I would expect a mom to be, Julie's said Cam's folks are great too and have been friends and neighbors since the guys over there, (she pointed to Starke and Cam, at the grill), were born With that Cam shouted," food on the grills' almost ready"
Julie said, "come on we'll go in and get the side dishes" as she saw Cameron walking towards the rear of the yard to round up the boys, Katie would stay right where she was so engaged in her sand castle, or whatever that was supposed to be she was so occupied with building, until Julie got her cleaned up and in her highchair. They brought things out in several trips to a large picnic table that was a11laid out with plates, cutlery, checked tablecloth and even flowers in the center carefully arranged, in a pot, she would bet was hand painted by Julie herself.
