I'll go check on dinner, you children relax, I don't think it will be much longer and we'll be eating, as Anne was straightening her apron, then she turned to go to the kitchen. Candee said to Starke then, "she's the best mom, isn't she?" and he replied, "Yes she sure is." I'm going to go see if l can help her in the kitchen, you relax, okay? As she turned the TV on for him.

The following week as they had promised each other they would, they each made an appointment with a doctor for a check-up and as promised, Anne called Candee with the time for their luncheon on Saturday, what Candee and Starke did not know was that this was to be her shower luncheon, and for Starke after the appointment at the tux rental shop, Cameron would take him to his place for his bachelor party/clambake, with the guys from the department and his two boys.

And as Saturday arrived, the weekdays behind them, they each went to their separate appointments, and Candee was delighted in her surprise luncheon, and the wonderful gift that the ladies gave to her, she exclaimed, oh my as she opened the card and read the gift certificate for the all day spa treatment, which of course she had never indulged in herself.

Starke had a great time at his bachelor party, and took all the ribbing the guys handed out to him in generous doses, the clambake was excellent, the beer cold, and the games of horseshoes, basketball, football etc. very male bonding, and all the guys seemed to have a good time.

Later that evening at the cabin, Candee and Starke shared many laughs regaling each other with stories of their day. They poured over the plans for their dream house, and Candee got way ahead of him placing the furniture, when he said, "whoa better slow down there, they haven't cleared the property, and you've not only placed the furniture, but you've hung the draperies, and we aren't married yet", then she said, "oh no, I've taken the draperies down and replaced them", they both laughed.
