As they drove from the cabin to the building lot, they talked of many things, mostly about the house they would be building, but then Candy ask about Ed, she asked if he was married, Starke said oh, yes he certainly is married to the little gal we all fell for way back in grammar school, but she never really paid attention to anyone but Ed. We called her "Sassy Sally," and we teased her constantly for the sassy sway she had in her walk even as a child, and wow, could she throw the daggers at us with those big crystal clear blue eyes of hers, but they always softened when they fell on Ed.
They both went on to school and became veterinarians, got married and became partners in the clinic they opened together, behind the clinic is their cottage, usually filled with stray or unwanted animals, they call their kids, since they decided not to have any real kids at this time, but rather to devote all their time to the clinic, and other peoples animals, which as it turns out is more than a full time job for these two dedicated people. You will meet Sally at the wedding, if not before, I'm sure you will like her everyone does; she's a very sweet person and of course devoted to Ed.
If she is in any way like her husband, I'm sure I will like them both, we'll have to have them for dinner or some sort of get together after we're married, because I want very much for your friends to become our friends. Starke had stopped the car in front of their property, just about the time she made that statement, and he pulled her close for a very deserving kiss. Then he said, "Let’s just sit here for awhile and envision our house, before we turn it into a home, with our family inside, can we do that?" "Yes, I'm sure we can."
They finally arrive at his mother's house, in their usual manner, and after the greetings, and hugs, sat down to talk, and before they got into the updates for the wedding, Starke and Candee told Anne all about the episode with the deer, oh, my, Anne said, "is she all right?" They assured her she is all right thanks to Ed.
I will put everyone I can think of on this case bright and early Monday morning, I want these guys caught; I'll not have any more innocent animals shot for sport, or any other reason, on my property. They should be lucky if l do not get my hands on them personally.
