Dance With the Wind - Page 90/108

Non-stop questions and talk filled the van on the hour drive to the Pow-Wow. Images of Colby remained a mixture of colors and symbols. "Will I find answers today?" Megan wondered. "Did Colby mean we would meet at the Pow-Wow? How's that significant?"

After Brett parked the van, the kids rushed outside. Megan wished for a lasso to rein them in, but her soul understood the desire to explore. Once her feet touched the soil, she knew her answers were here. "Do I search, or do I let them find me?" she asked herself.

With an hour to explore, the three groups ventured around the grounds. Megan, Mike, Christa, Jason, and Paige looked at the vendors' booths. Jewelry, blankets, purses, and leather accessories filled the tables, but Megan's senses were tuned to something else. Someone watched her, but whom? Did Colby know her every move, or was it Clay?

"There's Gray Cloud," Jason said, running ahead.

Dressed in a white outfit and holding an eagle feather, Gray Cloud looked like a tribal elder. A youthful exuberance shone through the years of knowledge.

"Hello. Are we having fun?" he asked.

The kids chimed in and showed their purchases. "And you, Megan?"

Jingling bells drowned out his voice. A fire in a circle appeared, but the dancer never arrived. "Is he here at the Pow-Wow? How will I know him? Where are you?"

"We're here with Gray Cloud," Christa said.

"What?" Megan asked. When she moved the vision disappeared. "Sorry."

"There's the rest of the group," Paige said, and the kids joined the Circle M gang.

"Are you okay, child?" Gray Cloud asked, smiling.

Megan shook her head, her eyes holding a dream-like trance. "I saw my dream, but the dancer never arrived. Who is he? Where is he?"

Gray Cloud stared deep into her eyes. "Look inside yourself, child. You know the answer, but fear admitting it. Be happy, positive, and energetic. Before long your heart will speak."

"Thank you, I think." Slurping drinks, chatter, rustling paper, and jingling bells took center stage, pushing his words far away from Megan. "Enjoy the Pow-Wow," she spoke to no one.

Slow, steady drumbeats pulled her towards the circle. She found the Circle M group in time to watch the Grand Entry.

"Welcome everyone to the Pow-Wow celebration," the emcee said. Thunderous applause shook the ground. The Circle M gang stayed standing, enthusiasm shining off their faces. "Please rise and remove your hats for the Grand Entry."
