"I haven't eaten yet, and I would love to have dinner with you tonight. Do you have a place in mind?"
Jennifer's face lit up as she heard John say he would love to go. "No, maybe we can check with the Concierge, he was the one that told me to take the drive and walk tour and that turned out great." So they agreed to meet in the lobby in a half hour.
John was sitting in the lobby when her elevator door opened up. He felt a lump form in his throat. She was wearing a beautiful white dress that was cut above her knees, a gold necklace of blue and green stones hung around her neck, and a pair of gold strappy high heel sandals adorned her feet. John sat there in awe. Her blonde hair shimmered in the light from the lobby chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. She looked like a breath of fresh air walking toward him. He found it suddenly hard to breathe as he watched her walk closer. He couldn't remember seeing anyone that ever looked so amazing.
She got a warm feeling all over as she saw him sitting there waiting for her. He was watching and smiling at her as she walked toward him and she found it hard to swallow suddenly.
The Concierge had suggested three restaurants that would fit what John requested. These were all restaurants that weren't on the usual list of tourist fare. They catered more to locals than tourists and a little more out of the way than most, but he did promise any of the three would be a meal to remember. John and Jennifer had picked one from the list and found it after about forty-five minutes of weaving in and out of quite a few small streets. The front door of the restaurant was in the middle of a mostly empty looking block. The front of the building was so plain looking you could have blinked and missed it if you weren't looking for it. The wooden sign hung on the wall over the door and it looked as if it had been there for hundreds of years. They went in, the Maitre'D had seated them in a small booth with a single candle on the table. As plain as the outside had been, the inside was the complete opposite. Most of the walls were covered in a rich looking dark carved wood. The lighting that hung on the walls and ceiling were very ornate and elegant. An overly large fireplace at one end gave the room a warm homey feeling. A violinist played in the background as he walked around the restaurant stopping at each table for a couple of minutes. They ordered their meal and began to drink their wine as they talked.
