Around ten thirty Michael rang his room phone and asked him to meet him at eleven in the lobby he wanted to give him the latest schedule.

Michael sat in a lobby chair, listening to his cell phone as John walked up. Michael held up one finger to let John know he would be right with him after he finished listening to his messages. After closing his cell phone he looked up to John and said, "Have a seat, this won't take long." John sat down next to Michael, his mind still thinking of Michaels indiscretions. "Today I'm going to be busy most of the day and won't need you with me. Please keep your cell phone handy though. You can get some more sightseeing in today."

"Thanks. So how was your trip to meet with the company President, did you have a good meeting?"

Without blinking an eye Michael answered quickly. "The President was very gracious, but everybody here has seemed nice so far. I told you earlier, they really want our business. We finished up late and I decided to stay there for the night instead of making the long trip back here. I was so tired that my head hit the pillow about ten and I was asleep almost immediately and didn't wake up until early this morning, a nice but quiet evening."

John put on a forced smile all the while feeling angry inside. Michael didn't blink and he didn't even hesitate he had lied his way through the question. Then John thought about it, what did he expect him to do, tell him that he was having an affair? Why would he tell him anything, he was a new employee, not a close friend? Then John thought about the earrings and Jennifer. Suddenly realizing that he needed to stop obsessing about this, his friend Ron was right, it wasn't his problem and he shouldn't get involved.

After he left Michael he headed back up to his room. He lay on his bed, his mind whirling with thoughts about Michael and Jennifer again. He was helpless, no matter how hard he tried he couldn't stop thinking about her, he was a prisoner of his own thoughts. An hour later he was startled back to reality by the hotel phone ringing. He reached over and picked it up. "Hello."

"Hi John its Jennifer, I'm glad I found you in your room."

His face lit up. "Good morning again Jennifer."

"I just got done talking to Michael and he said he didn't need you and that you were going to be doing some more sightseeing today. If you wouldn't mind, can I tag along I would love to go with you again."
