Kill Fest - Page 101/133

He hovered over the fallen giant like the shadow of death draped in tattered black leather. His long trench coat scraped the floor behind him as he walked as though studying his downed prey.

"Who the fuck….what the fuck was that?" Aurora cried as she reached her companion who seemed just as bewildered as she. In the dimly lit subway from where they stood, the dark human image of a man seemed to transform in shape as the low light played tricks on their eyes under the flickering florescent bulbs.

"Stryker."

"I don't know…..let's just get the hell out of here," he said taking her by the hand and leading her away.

Then the dark figure stopped and took note of them. With their eyes fixed upon the same subject, the outline of the dark shape slowly turned their way revealing a lightly skinned, thin man with square rimed dark glasses. He seemed to be in his late 40's Aurora thought with a clean shaven head and bit of a limp in his left leg. To counter, he held a long black cane with a silver skull shaped knob in his left hand. His leather trench coat closed over at the moment, hid the very instrument of death that he used to decimate the large Russian.

"Oh no…..it can't be!" Stryker stated as he pulled Aurora's hand with a violent tug.

"What…..what?"

"Come on, we have to go……now," he added pulling her hard as they headed for the tracks and the tunnel.

"What…..what……who is he?"

"He's death, just come on."

"Say what!"

"Just fucking come on!"

The two climbed down into the tracks and ran into the shadowy tunnel with Aurora being yanked like a rag doll. She had never ever seen anything spook Stryker like that before and if he had anxiety about this newcomer to the game, then she knew she better comply and follow.

"He's not behind us if that's what you're worried about," she called out over the screech of all the trains in the nearby tunnels. "Stryker please, I have to take a minute…..please!" she cried pulling against him trying to slow him a bit. "Stryker, I have to catch my breath a minute!" she continued to cry until she was able to slow him down. "What the hell is going on, who is that guy?"

Trying to catch his own breath Stryker turned back to see if they were indeed alone. His eyes bugged out in a fashion that the hardened CIA officer and professional killer had never displayed before.

"Stryker…..you're starting to scare the shit out of me. Who the hell is that?" she demanded as her colleague pointed to her smart phone in her left hand back pocket.
