Kill Fest - Page 53/133

The lobby wall clock read 1:10pm and the room was filled with reporters and fans alike, all dying to catch a glimpse of Jason Bear, today's new hot pop star and child millionaire. His rose to fame was fast although with only one hit under his belt, it went to the top of the music charts propelling the then 16 year old into the pop music stratosphere. Now at 19 years of age, the young star had become a bitter, self-indulgent wild child who now had developed the need for drugs and getting into trouble. His arrival at the new Golden Key Casino & Hotel of Las Vegas was to be the first performance the new location was to have and usher in its grand opening though the newly rich boy saw it as a low point in his short career. As the pop stars caravan of 4 black limos headed for the Hotel, four men and two women were already laying in wait for him. Not as fans but each hoping to be the one to murder him and advance to the next stage of Kill Fest.

With weapon in hand, Aurora watched the bedside digital clock. She knew the time the boy singer was due in. Should she try and take him out when he was checking in she thought. If so, was she the only one thinking it? The master plan of hitting him in his room may not prove to be the better idea. Someone may try and beat her to the punch by taking him out when he first arrives. Unknown to her at the time, Jimmy Vegas had already had that in mind.

Both killers enjoyed the fury of a fast hit and all its ferocity. From meeting Vegas only once before when the two overlapped back in her CIA days 4 years earlier when she was issued a hit on a man that Jimmy also wanted when he was playing bounty hunter for a local bondsman. The two played a 24 hour cat and mouse game chasing the drug lord they both hunted. In the end, it was Aurora who gained the upper hand and took out the target for the U.S. government leaving Jimmy empty handed. The ordeal gave the young CIA agent an insight into how Jimmy Vegas operated and now it would come in need knowing how the part time hit man conducted business.

Slipping a fully loaded magazine into the guns hand grip, Aurora slid the killing apparatus into the Sneaky Pete belt holster. Squared in shape, the little gun pouch looked nothing like any weapons holster but appeared more like a cell phone case or money wallet looped to her right side leather belt. The carrying case was the best in sidearm concealment but its downfall was that it was too small to fit a gun and its sound suppresser too. She knew that if she had the shot in sight, she would have to make it and flee for the sound blast of her Glock would for sure give away her position when fired. Unless she thought she could withdraw the weapon and screw on the silencer without anyone seeing her removing it from her pocket.
