Kill Fest - Page 86/133

Now armed with a larger caliber handgun from the slain cop, Jodi worked her way into the lower depths of the subway to escape her seeker. Her route would bring her into contact with two more members of the game who like her had conflicting thoughts of going on. Aurora had seen her first as she ran their way, unknown to their presence.

"Shit!" the tattooed woman cried as she reached for her sidearm.

"No wait!" Stryker belted out as he grabbed for her wrist preventing her hand from reaching her hidden surprise. "She's running from someone, not coming for us," he added as he took note of her eye position.

"What Stryker?" Aurora questioned as she tried to pull her hand away from her partner's grasp.

"Look she's staring past us Aurora, she don't even see us."

"Yeah…..you're right, but what's she running from is the question?" Aurora queried as she drew her hand from her concealed Glock.

Almost out of breath, the 29 year old slowed her pace until she stopped dead in her tracks bending over sucking in as much air as she could. The platform was not as populated as a few minutes earlier giving Aurora and her counterpart a fair chance on seeing the oncoming woman before she had taking sight of them. Then Jodi raised her head panting hard, looking straight ahead of her, she caught sight of the couple watching her from only 30 yards away. She knew who they were in an instant and as she fought to catch her breath, she prayed they wouldn't react to her before she was up to engaging them.

Although eye contact was made, the threesome didn't counter until he came into view. Jimmy could be seen coming from 100 yards or more. His flashy loud jacket gave away his presents with a luminosity only second to his flamboyant style. As he made his approach, he spotted two more targets and felt as though it was his birthday. Jodi saw that the couple was now drawing all their attention on someone other than her. Turning to look over her shoulder, she saw the man in white raising his twin killers and taking aim.

"Stryker!" Aurora cried reaching for her trusted Glock.

"Yeah…..I know!" her partner called out as he too reached into his leather withdrawing his most prized instrument of demise.

Caught amid crossfire, Jodi dived out of the way and stayed low as the deadly projectiles raged overhead. The sound was deafening as the young woman held her hands over her ears plastering her face into the subway floor. Firing her semi-automatic nonstop, Aurora drifted slightly apart from her companion who was switching his weapon to full machine gun mode. The muzzle flash from the rate of fire light up the dimly lit area like fire in a bottle. Even the seasoned Aurora was enormously impressed by the demonstration of firepower.
