"Huh?"
"Take me to my house" Linda commanded
"But baby, I …" Bill begged
"Don't touch me."
"Baby please,"
"Take me home. Now!!"
Linda screamed…
"Of course," Bill turned the steering, turning the car to the other direction.
Bill had driven her here silently. She had avoided looking at him, although she had seen tears in his eyes. He'd hurt her. How dare he? How dare he make all those vows to her when he was dating another man? Had he taken her for a fool? She cried even more, recalling her own stupidity. He'd begged her to forgive him. To take him in. He'd said that he and Bradley had been done the night she and Bill had made love. But she had been so mad she had not listened. He had stood by the car. Holding her hands with tears, begging her not to live him after the promises they had just made to each other. He'd loved her. She remembered his confession with tears. Then she remembered even more. The vows. She'd told him he was hers. Like she'd been his. Now why had she chickened away? He'd stopped all that for her. He'd begged her. She wanted him now. She'd resisted the urge to go to his house for a week now. Her house was gloomy, it held all the memories of her darkness, yet that had barely happened at Bill's. She was shocked to discover that even after what he had done to her, she still yearned to see him. To embrace him like he was hers. She wanted Bill.
