"I'm so glad I met you today. I will tell anyone who asks we are going to London together," Susan assured him.
It was now 1pm. A voice came over the intercom saying flight 715 to London and Paris now boarding at gate 5.
"That's our flight," Arflin said as he motioned to Susan and pointed to gate 5.
A saddened feeling came over Arflin as the plane taxied out on to the runway. He could feel the force as the jet engines revved up to full throttle as the giant jumbo jetliner lifted off the ground. He was certain he would never see Lacey again and that thought left a void he could feel in the bottom of his soul. He had traveled to the other side of the world to find a purpose for his life and when at last he found it, he was forced to leave it here.
The flight from Sydney to London took a little over twenty-five hours and everything went just fine.
"What do you think about flying now?" Arflin asked Susan as she got up to depart the plane.
"I really enjoyed it. Thanks to you I felt safe. I just wish you would be here when it comes time to return home, " she said as she kissed Arflin on his cheek and said good-bye.
