Romancing a Stalker - Page 5/57

That sounded like a splendid idea to Stardust only she insisted he stay at her home. It seemed foolish to her for him to spend money on a motel if they were getting married in a few days anyway.

A couple of days had passed when Bonnie Bee noticed Stardust wasn't coming into chat anymore and asked if anyone had seen her? This was extremely unusual because Stardust practically lived in chat rooms. Dream Lover hadn't been in either. Most of the others could not remember seeing her, but a few like Firefly and Panpie were certain she had not been in chat while they were online.

Chessiegal was the last known person to chat with Stardust. Stardust was telling Chessiegal about going to the beauty salon earlier that day and getting her hair fixed. She stopped by a shop and splurged a little. She bought herself a new outfit. She really wanted to make a good impression on Dream Lover.

As a matter of fact they were chatting when Stardust got a phone call. A few minutes later Stardust came back online and told Chessiegal the call was from Dream Lover. He was at the airport in Ames, Iowa about twenty miles away and she was leaving then to go pick him up. That was the last anyone heard from Stardust.

"I wonder if Stardust married Dream Lover and they went on a honeymoon," Lucy Lou asked.

"I haven't heard anything from her either," Butterfly Kisses added.

Stardust immigrated to America from Ireland with her parents in 1945. Both of her parents were now deceased and she didn't have any next of kin. Everyone who talked to her on a regular basis was starting to worry about her.

One of the regular chatters nicknamed Linda who knew her and had her phone number tried to call her on several occasions, but never got an answer.

Finally Linda called the police in Iowa where Stardust lived and told them about Stardust's sudden disappearance from chat rooms.

"So many things could have happened to her. She may have fallen and was unable to get help or a number of other reasons could be possible and would they please try to contact her?" Linda pleaded.

The police got Linda's phone number and said they would try to contact Stardust and make sure everything was all right. They would call her back when they found out something.

The next day the police called back and told Linda the sad news. This is the report the police gave and they asked Linda to warn other chatters of the danger still at large.
