Life After Taylah - Page 83/86

“Fuck you,” I mouth at him.

He wiggles his brows and then turns to Muff just in time to see him put his fingers in his mouth. That dirty little shit! I thump his leg, and he only grins at me, sucking his fingers and then turning back to his dinner with a smile.

“You dirty fucker,” Spike chuckles.

Oh god, kill me now.

“Who is?” Jackson asks.

I glare at Spike, he better not say anything.

“No one in particular,” he says, winking at me again. Fuck him and his winking, the asshole.

“Feel better, baby?” Muff whispers into my ear.

“Bite me, Muff.”

“Later honey.”

God, help me.

CIARA

My stomach twitches, but I figure it’s just because I’m full. I rub my hands over it, trying to focus on the conversation around me but it continues to tighten and loosen, tighten and loosen. I rub it harder; I seriously ate too much. When the tightening turns into a slight pain, I groan. Great. Of course my baby decides now is the time to arrive. Maybe they’re only fake pains; I’ll time them.

I listen to the conversation around me as I try to time my pains. Sure enough, they are coming five minutes apart and lasting for about thirty seconds. Magical. I lift my gaze and see Spike is staring at me, he’s been watching me and he has a concerned look on his face. I mouth to him; “We’re going to have a baby tonight.” His eyes widen and he leaps up.

“Holy fuck.”

“Dude, what?” Cade asks, staring up at him.

“Ciara is in labor.”

Everyone turns to me and I shrug. “Whoops.”

“Holy shit!” Addison screams, sliding out of her chair and rushing over. “How long, how far, when?”

“Calm down, Addi,” I say, gripping her arm. “They’re about five minutes apart, thirty seconds long, we’ve got time.”

“Well let’s get to the hospital,” Cade says calmly as Spike stares at me in shock. He’ll never get better at this.

“Tell me someone has a car?” Spike says, looking at everyone.

They all stare at him like he’s lost his mind. “Where’s your fuckin’ car?” Jackson growls.

“In the garage getting fixed,” he says, putting his hands in his hair and pulling.

Oh shit.

“Did you all ride?” I ask, desperately hoping someone will say they haven’t.

No one does.

Mega shit.

“What about a cab?” Addison says just as another pain rips through me. I groan and double over.

“I’ll call one now,” Janine says, leaping up and rushing out with her phone pressed to her ear.

She comes back five minutes later with a grim expression. “They’re busy for the next forty five minutes.”

Another pain rips through me. “We’ll go on the bikes,” I pant. “I need to go now.”

“Like fuck!” Spike says, shaking his head. “I am not puttin’ you on my bike like that.”

I look up at him and growl. “Then you will deliver my baby on the floor.”

His face goes white and he turns to Jackson. “You good at delivering babies?”

“Fuck,” I yell. “Take me on the bike, Spike.”

“You guys need to go, stop arguing or I’ll ride her myself,” Addison stays. “Let’s go.”

“I’ll stay with the kids,” Janine says.

“Me too,” Muff adds.

“Fine, then we all need to go and go now,” I growl. “Hurry.”

Spike doesn’t protest any longer, instead he leans down and hooks his arms beneath me, lifting me and helping me towards the door. Another pain hits me when we get outside and I double over, crying out.

“Fuck, this is dangerous,” he says, rubbing my back. “I’m not happy about this, Tom Cat.”

“Don’t have a choice,” I pant. “We gotta go.”

He helps me onto his bike and pulls my arms tightly around him.

“Hit my chest if you have a cramp, I’ll stop.”

I nod as he starts up the bike. I hear all the bikes rumbling around us and following close behind as Spike takes off. I pant through as many contractions as I can before finally thumping his chest half way there because I am in so much pain I feel as though I’m going to black out. This is coming hard and fast, and it’s scaring me. He pulls the bike over, and helps me off. I fall to my knees on the soft grass by the road and cry out in pain as the urge to push radiates through me.

“Shit, fuck, what do I do?”

The other bikes pull up and I hear them all rush over. “What’s going on?” Addison asks.

“I need to push,” I scream.

“Shit, get back on the bike and we’ll go,” Spike says, his voice frantic.

“I can’t,” I wail. “The baby is coming, now!”

“Fuck,” I hear Jackson say. “Serenity, call an ambulance.”

“Already on it,” she says.

“Lay her down, Spike,” Addison says.

Spike lays me back, and Jackson takes off his jacket, laying it beneath me. My head hits the floor and I scream in pain.

“You need to take her underwear off, Spike,” Addison says. “If this baby is coming you don’t want it restricted.”

“Shit,” Cade mutters, walking away. Jackson also turns away.

“Cover her,” Spike barks as he slides my panties off.
