Weller tipped his glass high. "Jerome Shipton was still alive when I got down there," he said, arresting the attention of the others.

"I thought he was dead," Dean said.

"Nope. I'm surprised he wasn't, as far as he fell and I guess he is by now. The medics were talking about looking in his pockets for an organ donor card. But he wasn't dead when I saw him."

"Did you talk to him?" Fred asked.

"In a manner of speaking."

"What's that mean?" Dean asked sharply, tired of Weller's game playing.

"He just whispered one word."

"And that was...?"

"Dean," Weller answered, as he rose to leave.
