"But Caleb is long gone now."
"Yeah. So he's like off the hook."
"Stop worrying about it. We'll take care of everything. Tell me exactly where this mine is located, and just where the skeleton is." Dean took a pencil and paper from the night stand and handed it to her.
"You believe me?" she asked. He nodded as she plopped down at the desk and began to sketch on the paper, explaining as she drew. After she handed the stub-pencil map back to him, she repeated her question. "You really believe me?"
"Yes, I do," Dean said and wrapped his arms around her.
He could tell from her muffled voice she was crying.
"What are you going to do?"
Dean crossed to the bureau, picked up his hairbrush. He opened the bottom drawer, placed it in the back beneath his never used shorts and closed it with a slam. "We're going to forget about spankings and I'm going to show the town my new cool pants while we all go to dinner. That's what we're going to do."
