Chapter 653: Like Moths To A Flame

Lu Li estimated how long it would take to clear the Boss' remaining HP and issued the instructions. It was a little early, but they had no choice – if their healers ran out of HP they would get wiped and it would be over.

"Memories, put down a Mana regen totem. Flying Fish, you go after her."

All the professions had a way of restoring mana, but given the amount of HP they were collectively losing, it just wasn't enough.

"I can restore mana! I can restore mana!" Hachi Chan shouted excitedly.

This girl's time to shine had finally come. She had dumbfounded everyone previously and wanted that feeling again after working so hard for her quests.

"You can put totems down?" Sakura Memories scratched her head in confusion.

"Tell me – whose mana do I restore?" Hachi Chan asked as she lifted her chin and puffed her chest with pride. She was ready to show off again.

"Is it Innervate?" Lu Li couldn't help but ask.

"How… how did you know?" Hachi Chan was dumbfounded. She was going to rub it in everyone's faces, but someone had actually guessed it.

"If it's a Druid helping someone else regenerate mana, it has to be Innervate," Lu Li's lip curled as he spoke. Innervate really was a good supportive skill, but it just couldn't be compared to Tranquility.

Innervate: Increase target's mana regeneration to 400% mana regeneration for 20 seconds.

If you had 400% mana regeneration for 20 seconds, you could almost fully regenerate your mana.

"We'll put the second totem down later; give March Rain Innervate."

Since they had this extra skill, they didn't need to use the mana totem so early. Lu Li and the others could go back to fighting normally.

Attempting an Instance Dungeon was similar to this. As long as they could come up with countermeasures for any surprises, they could defeat the Boss.

After half an hour, the Doomguard's HP was almost cleared and it was entering the critical phase. This was the most dangerous stage as most Burning Legion Bosses could go Berserk.

The Doomguard held a huge double-headed spear and as it slowly poised, its whole body began to turn red.

"Attack!" Lu Li shouted.

On this command, everyone launched a large wave of skills. Hachi Chan's Tranquility had also come off cooldown, but at this critical moment, there was no reason to save any skills as it was now or never.

Most Berserk forms would open with an additional skill, or would channel an ultimate skill. Even Lu Li had gathered 5 combo points and was ready.

As the Boss roared, he jumped up and casted Eviscerate to deeply pierce the demon's spine. Red damage figures floated up above its body.

He had dealt more than 700 damage!

He hadn't achieved a particularly high Skill Completion as he had only recently obtained this skill, but the direction in which he had cast it was still acceptable, so he managed to deal at least 2.5 times the normal damage. With the reduced defense from the Boss' Berserk form, dealing 700 damage wasn't impossible.

In fact, if that was deal to a player…

If that player didn't cast a damage reduction skill and was Cloth Armored, it would almost be a one-shot.

The others were also dealing considerable damage because of the Boss' reduced damage reduction. The remaining 5% HP quickly dropped to half of that.

Rain of Fire!

While in Berserk, Rain of Fire had real chance of instantly killing the players. It seemed like the Boss was also becoming tired of trying to kill them individually.

"Stupid Hachi! Tranquility!" Lu Li cried.

"No, you're stupid!" the little girl retorted while promptly casting the spell.

The Rain of Fire and healing rain fell on the players at almost the same time. Their HP rapidly fell and rose; it was quite exhilarating to watch.

It definitely was the Fortified Tranquility – the regular Tranquility wasn't nearly as impressive.

"Ahwooo! Stop wasting my time, you worthless creatures!" the Doomguard roared as he rushed towards Hachi Chan with his double-headed spear.

"Moon…" Lu Li tried to tell Moonlight to help Hachi Chan, but the Boss had acted too quickly. Although Moonlight moved, he was a step too late.

Hachi Chan died and Tranquility's effect gradually dissipated, but the Rain of Fire wasn't over yet!

The remaining healers scrambled to start healing, and the others didn't need Lu Li's reminder to cast their damage reduction skills on themselves. They just needed to survive a little bit longer.

Even before going Berserk, this Boss could already one-shot the players, so now, it was even easier. Wandering was stabbed to death by its spear.

Azure Sea Breeze chassed the Boss from behind and casted Taunt, which was followed by several more Taunts from the other players, but the Boss completely ignored them.

"Dammit Sea Breeze, body-block the Boss and give yourself up!" Lu Li's spirit hadn't faded at all; he commanded the two Main Tanks to stand right in the Boss' path. The Boss couldn't walk through them, so they could delay it for a few seconds at least.

World's Best Friend was first; he casted Charged and suddenly appeared in front of the Boss. The Boss was very annoyed at this player, but had to slow down to deal with him.

World's Best Friend knew that he was going to die, so he wisely casted his strongest damage reduction skill as several other healers desperately tried to heal him.

He actually managed to not get one-shot.

However, the Berserk Doomguard didn't stop after one hit and easily cleared the rest of World's Best Friend's HP with its second attack.

Azure Sea Breeze then went forwards, this time without any hesitation. This was a secret area, so if they died they, wouldn't be able to get back.

It was the same as the Wastelands – they only had one chance to do this!

Lu Li didn't resurrect World's Best Friend, nor did he resurrect Hachi Chan. Instead, he resurrected Bearded Zaza who had died previously.

Bearded Zaza was a long-range hunter and with his Agility points, he was a little more agile than the Fire Mage. His attacks didn't require much channeling and he could easily kite the Boss.

Kiting was the idea of maintaining a safe distance from the Boss while still dealing damage to it.

Azure Sea Breeze quickly died as well.

"Darkness, it's your turn."

This charming female Paladin was said to be Sorrowless' sweetheart. If he knew that Lu Li had asked his Goddess to be cannon fodder, a war might break out between Glory Capital and Ruling Sword.

Darkness didn't hesitate to move up and died just like the two other main tanks. She couldn't heal anyone, so she was a good candidate as cannon fodder.

She only managed to take one hit from the Boss, which stalled it for about one second.

Darkness, March Rain, Machine Bro, Flying Fish Hater, Moonlight and Sakura Memories all died, one after the other. They were all trying to buy time for the other high-damage output players.
