Seeking the Flying Sword Path - Page 356/650

Swoosh.

Qin Yun landed beside a quiet lake. The force of his landing sent ripples stirring in the lake.

“I’ll do it here.” Qin Yun surveyed his surroundings. There were no villages in the surrounding five kilometers. He waved his hand and threw out a scroll. It was none other than the transcendent-grade Dharma treasure Two World Picture. After it flew out, it rapidly transformed into the Two World array, covering the surrounding five kilometers. Fog rose within the five-kilometer radius, preventing anyone outside from seeing what happened within.

With the Two World array’s profundity, even Skygods and Skyimmortals would need to expend a little effort to enter. That would naturally alert Qin Yun.

“I’ll carefully study the treasures here. Perhaps I might find a pleasant surprise.” Qin Yun’s heart thumped with anticipation. With a thought, a large number of items flew out from the cloud, landing on the grass beside the lake.

This included the corpses of the Other Realm experts.

Qin Yun looked at an incomplete Grand Magus corpse with eyes full of wonder.

“Skyfiend, Skygod, Grand Magus… Ancestral Master Zhang is in urgent need of strong corpses like these.” Qin Yun knew that Bodhisattva Mahākāśyapa and Human Emperor didn’t think much of such corpses as they could hardly put them to use. Numinous Treasure Mountain’s Patriarch Bai was willing to buy them but he was only willing to pay half a Numinous treasure for a complete Skyfiend corpse.

Ancestral Master Zhang offered the best rate. He was willing to purchase a complete Skyfiend corpse for an inferior-grade Numinous treasure.

“What a pity that it’s incomplete.” Qin Yun could not help but shake his head when he looked at the huge holes in the Grand Magus’s chest, the broken arm, and its numerous injuries. “Even if it’s incomplete, it’s probably still worth half a Numinous treasure.”

Qin Yun found nothing else of worth despite carefully probing the Grand Magus corpse.

It was not surprising. If there were any treasures on the Magus when he died, Immortal Cloudgrave would have stored them elsewhere.

Qin Yun took out a Cosmic Bag, it was none other than Old Master Chu’s. He opened the bag and similarly, a large number of items poured out and landed on the grass.

“Boom!”

There was suddenly a huge stir.

The golden Heart-Protecting Mirror flew up, and in the distance, a golden chest armor that was lying among Immortal Cloudgrace’s treasures flew over. The armor had a hole in the chest and the Heart-Protecting Mirror automatically socketed itself in the hole. As runic patterns flowed over it, it turned into a complete entity.

“A treasure set?” Qin Yun’s eyes lit up. “Ancestral Master Zhang mentioned that the beast had a Heart-Protecting Mirror that appeared to be a remnant of a Numinous treasure. Could the combination have formed a complete Numinous treasure?”

“Come.”

Qin Yun commanded with his mind, pulling the golden armor to his side.

He infused Dharmic powers into it and quickly refined it to be his. Qin Yun then floated up. The golden armor set split into two combat boots and a helm. The pair of boots fit onto Qin Yun’s feet as the main chest armor split apart from the back before wrapping around Qin Yun. The helm gently flew onto his head.

He was completely covered from head to toe, except his hands.

“Oh?”

Qin Yun frowned. “This is a Numinous treasure armor set. They are separately a helm, chest armor, Heart-Protecting Mirror, a pair of combat boots and a pair of gauntlets, a total of seven parts! I currently have five and am missing a pair of Dharma treasure gauntlets!”

He could easily determine through the runic patterns flowing in the Numinous treasure armor that the Numinous treasure armor would be complete with a pair of Dharma treasure gauntlets.

“The Heart-Protecting Mirror was carried by the beast. As for the helm, chest armor and battle boots, they were Immortal Cloudgrace’s,” thought Qin Yun. “Could the transcendent-grade Dharma treasure the beast mentioned be the armor’s helm and other parts? That’s right. The helm, chest armor, and combat boots are each equivalent to a first-grade Dharma treasure. The four of them combined are equivalent to a powerful transcendent-grade Dharma treasure.”

“What a pity.”

“It’s incomplete. If I could have the complete Numinous treasure armor, that would be great.” Qin Yun commanded with his mind as the armor pieces rapidly flew out and into his Cosmic Bag.

Qin Yun carefully checked the items.

Apart from the Heart-Protecting Mirror, the beast also had an Evasion Talisman. It appeared to allow a third Firmament Essence Soul to cast Void Transference once! Although it was a one-time consumable, it could match a transcendent-grade Dharma treasure. If it was a treasure that could allow Skyimmortals or Skygods to undergo Void Transference, its value would have been that of a Numinous treasure.

He spent almost all day checking everything.

The most precious item was none other than the Heart Stirring Bell. Next were the five remnants of the Numinous treasure armor, then the Grand Magus’s corpse, the Evasion Talisman, etc.

“Qin Yun.” Ancestral Master Zhang contacted Qin Yun.

“Senior Zhang.” Qin Yun acted respectfully in front of the senior’s phantom that appeared in front of him.

“I have finished questioning the Other Realm beast. It was quite tight-lipped so it took me this long. Quickly come. I have some things to tell you,” said Ancestral Master Zhang with a smile.

“Alright, I’ll be right there.”

Qin Yun nodded.

After cutting off the transmission, Qin Yun waved his hand and put away the Two World Picture. The treasures within were stored away as well. Following that, he cast Beam Transformation Art and whooshed towards the Divine Firmament Chapter as a stream of light.

He was in the Po Prefecture and so was only a few hundred kilometers away from the Divine Firmament Chapter. He arrived within moments.

The Divine Firmament Chapter was magnificent and stately. It had numerous array formations and clouds lingering around it. There were even lightning bolts flaring over the various mountain peaks.

As he overlooked the Divine Firmament Chapter, Qin Yun marveled inwardly. As expected of a Daoist sacred land, it looked truly extraordinary!

“Come to me.”

A voice rang in Qin Yun’s ears. Clouds gathered beneath his feet as purple lightning circulated within them.

Qin Yun stepped onto the cloud and was rapidly brought into the Divine Firmament Chapter.

“Oh? There’s an intruder.”

“Who?”

There were quite a number of people responsible for the Divine Firmament Chapter’s security who noticed him.

“It’s Qin Yun from Jiang Prefecture’s Grand Dominance.”

“It’s that Sword Immortal Qin Yun.”

“Ancestral Master is summoning him?”

Seeing Qin Yun fly over on a cloud that contained purple lightning, they realized the situation despite remaining puzzled. None of them dared to stop a person Ancestral Master Zhang summoned.

Ancestral Master Zhang was having tea. When he saw Qin Yun land in the yard, he smiled at him. “Here, have a seat.”

“Senior Zhang.” Qin Yun went forward and sat down. “How did the questioning go?”

“That Other Realm beast comes from a world not far from our Great Chu world,” said Ancestral Master Zhang. “He was under orders to come to our Great Chang world to complete two missions. The first mission is to obtain detailed information about our world so that preparations to occupy it can be made in the future.”

“Occupy our Great Chang world?” Qin Yun’s expression changed slightly.

“It’s nothing much,” Ancestral Master Zhang said with a smile. “There are numerous Other Realm Fiendcelestials that wish to occupy our world after all. This beast’s world has only sent a scout, so the level of threat is still very low.”

Qin Yun nodded slightly.

“Probing our world is something done only in passing. His second mission is the more important one. He was to seek out parts of the Empyrean Lord Divine Armor,” explained Ancestral Master Zhang. “That Other Realm beast said that, thanks to the aid of the Heart-Protecting Mirror, he was certain that four other parts were inside the cave abode. And now, they should be in your hands.”
