Chapter 101 – D2
Zhang Xiao Qiang was unaware of the thoughts of the women behind him. He was only concerned about the zombies and his plan. In fact, he was not very confident, after all, he only graduated from high school, and he did not know if his plan would really proceed smoothly. What was most discomforting was that he used to lose all the time when he played games with others.
A number of the zombies managed to shamble over, while those behind wanted to but were stuck together. The bridge looked positively stuck, and Zhang Xiao Qiang stared dumbly. He could never have imagined that the zombies could not even get past the bridge.
Instead, it was those scattered zombies that had arrived earlier and were free from the pileup behind, that were slowly approaching. However, what’s the point of just clearing this dozen of them?
His final goal was to enter the market and the seeds that he was aiming for. They were all waiting for him to collect, what if he waited too long and they went bad? Then it would really spell disaster for his future generations.
The old man in the ditch was beginning to stir awake. When he saw the plight he was in, he began to scream out hoarsely, and the cross began to shake. As he twisted, he felt the full extent of the nails in his limbs, and he screamed even more miserably. Zhang Xiao Qiang could not be bothered to look at him, only watching the zombies anxiously, even cursing the builders of the bridge for the narrow opening.
“Hubby! We missed out on morning exercise, and aren’t there already monsters there? Why not…” Yang Ke’er looked at the zombies and became restless, as she asked Zhang Xiao Qiang, hoping to vent her energy.
Zhang Xiao Qiang did not waste time to argue with her, instead, he waved his hands and said: “Only those which crossed the bridge. You can’t go for those at the bridge, otherwise, I’ll spank you.”
“Yes!!” Yang Ke’er just wanted to smash some ‘gophers’, and she couldn’t care about anything else. She let out a weird war cry and charged towards the zombies. A shadow rushed past her, it turned out to be Yuan Yi who could not control herself any longer. Yang Ke’er saw her passed and instantly pouted, charging forth with more speed to surpass Yuan Yi.
Su Qian saw the two of them pouncing towards the zombies, and she looked at the zombies while hesitating. She then began to walk forward as well, just that her steps were more careful, and her speed was not fast. Seeing the 3 women taking the initiative to approach the zombies, the older sister was very shocked. She had always thought that the 3 were Zhang Xiao Qiang women, and were women he protected. Who would have thought that they were zombie killers as well?
Yang Ke’er charged under the challenge from Yuan Yi, and dodged a few claws and bites, leaping into the midst of a few zombies. With a loud “Ha”, she used her Beast Horn Spear to draw a circle around her, sending 4 or 5 zombies soaring through the sky.
Yuan Yi was even more engrossed in such simple killing, however, she was careful. She didn’t charge headlong into danger unlike Yang Ke’er, instead, she began to work her way from the outer zombies. As she neared a zombie, she used the hammer to hook it by the belt close, and pull them down to the ground.
She followed up by dodging a bite from another zombie, her right feet twisting in the ground. Her entire body swung furiously towards the right, sending the hammer smashing into the zombie’s head. Its brain was immediately blasted apart, and the contents splattering onto the ground. By the time she turned to find another target, she found the zombie on the ground already taken out by Yang Ke’er.
The dozen of zombies was soon routed by the two of them. Yuan Yi wasn’t flustered, instead, using the hammer to hook one zombie and dragged it behind Zhang Xiao Qiang. When the older sister saw the struggling zombie, she became frightened and dragged her younger sister away.
Su Qian was full of regret now, scolding herself for dragging her feet. She had not even gotten the chance to approach the zombies, and they were already cleared by the 2 others. There was no victory to be proud of, and she felt like she had been thrown far behind in the race again. She was afraid that she might be eliminated.
Yuan Yi swung the hammer and broke the limbs of the zombie beneath her feet. She wasn’t in a rush to kill it, instead, she wanted to take her time to enjoy the process. Although the zombies could not feel pain, she didn’t care, she just treated it like a toy, a sort of outlet to vent her energy and feelings.
Yuan Yi continued to break the bones of the zombies, while Zhang Xiao Qiang watched the bridge with increasing nervousness. This sort of waiting was the most torturing, as the zombies were still stuck, while the zombies behind continued to push forward. Some of the smaller S-Types had already been squashed and disappeared from view. The bridge was starting to look like it might collapse. The zombies might be a lot lighter individually, but the bridge could not contain the number of them!
Although a few zombies would break free from time to time, more were being pushed off. The vast majority was still stuck on the bridge, and some of the larger D types were beginning to roar out in frustration. They wanted to scare the cannon fodder beside them away, but the normal zombies could not get away no matter how hard they tried. The other zombies from behind only continued to push forward.
Suddenly, the zombies at the opposite side began to stir, as though a hornet’s nest had fallen among them. Many zombies were tossed aside way at the back.
Zhang Xiao Qiang picked up his binoculars and squinted, noting that a house was suddenly smacked up in the sky, as a huge and towering figure appeared.
His chest tightened as a single word escaped his mouth involuntarily: “D2….” Yes, the 2m-tall figure looming behind the zombie horde and was shoving them to the side was a D2. Those who could still move quickly scattered due to the fear. A D-Type suddenly slammed into the D2 due to the commotion and shoving, and before it could react, the D2 had grabbed it and lifted into the air.
When the 1.8m D-Type caught the scent of the D2, it began to struggle, and it looked like a little child in the humongous hands of the D2. It tried its best to struggle out of the D2’s grasp, but the D2 began to apply more pressure, and the thrashing of the D-Type began to decrease until it stopped totally.
“AO~~~~~” The D2 let out a huge roar, and twisted the neck of the D-Type, like a child playing with a toy and ripping its head off. It then flung the corpse away towards a cement wall, where the head of the D-Type was smashed into pieces like a watermelon. Zhang Xiao Qiang watched all these through the binoculars.
