Chapter 537 - The Battling Nine-headed Lion & Eight Extreme Malefic Weapons

Nine golden rays flashed across the air in the blink of an eye, Zhong Yue managed to rush in front of Gu Hongzi and Long Yue. He pushed his hands out and the【Celestial Demon Tai Chi Art】appeared in front of him. The【Celestial Demon Tai Chi Art】was cast eight times in quick succession so that their defensive power could stack on top of one another to block Shi Buyi’s attack.

Gu Hongzi was stronger, but he couldn’t block the godly rays either as two rays shot through his thighs, breaking the bones in his thighs.
Totem patterns immediately flew out from his body and reconnected the broken bones. He didn’t cultivate the Immortal Body and could only connect them back with the totem patterns. The bones were still broken but the totem patterns were able to temporarily hold them in place so that his prowess was not affected.

Shi Buyi roared again, and the force fields shuddered violently as they started to crack.
As the nine-headed lion roared, the sonic wave formed visible totem patterns and billowed out in all directions. Zhong Yue, Long Yue and Gu Hongzi were struck by the sonic wave and their wounds worsened from the blast!
Long Yue suddenly crawled on the ground and turned into the six-eyed Star Toad as he roared back.

His voice was low and powerful as the soundwave billowed over at Shi Buyi.
Gu Hongzi raised his head high and released a high-pitched shriek.
Whereas Zhong Yue clasped his hands together and the【Shao Hao Bell】emerged within his arms. And a resonant bell toll impacted on Shi Buyi’s senses.

Long Yue muffled pained groan as his inner core force field collapsed and his Nine Revolving Inner Core flew back into his forehead. It was filled with cracks, as if a single poke was all it would take to shatter it.
As his force field collapsed, his toad roar wasn’t able to press against Shi Buyi’s lion roar anymore. Immediately, the six-eyed Star Toad he formed was struck away and he crashed out for a few hundred miles, turning back into his usual form with a heavily wounded mortal body.
Long Yue landed with his limbs on the ground, he abruptly raised his head and shot a godly ray out from his divine eye. The roaring nine-headed lion moved his hands continuously into the Eight Extreme Slaughtering Array and formed a light screen in front of him to defend the godly ray.
Right at that instant, Zhong Yue opened his divine third eye and shot another godly ray that broke through the light screen, striking toward Shi Buyi’s throat.
Totem patterns suddenly emerged in front of Shi Buyi’s throat and formed little shields that stalled the godly ray. The godly ray struck through many pieces of these little shields before its energy finally wore off.

The nine-headed lion still stood high as his ferocious roars continued unabated. Moments later, Gu Hongzi’s inner core force field also collapsed, and the heavily fractured inner core filled flew back to him.
But Gu Hongzi stood steadfast on the ground. Blood streamed out from his mouth as he continued to counter the lion roar with his shrieks.

With the three inner core force fields broken away by Shi Buyi, the roars stopped.
