The Spider's Fly - Page 23/49

It was a beautiful Saturday morning. The sun was shinning and the weather couldn’t be more perfect. Since Lindsey’s parents wanted to keep it a secret, Lindsey was still unaware of the surprise airplane ride for her, that was already scheduled. This was the big day. Lindsey’s parents awoke to their alarm and began getting ready for the big day. Once Lindsey’s mother was all dressed and ready to go, it was time to wake up.Lindsey’s mother knocked on the door of Lindsey’s bedroom and Lindsey immediately opened it, as she was already awake and watching television. Lindsey’s mother Linda, finally informed Lindsey of the news. Lindsey was excited and hurried up and got ready to go. Lindsey's baby sister Angelina who was only 4, heard all of the excitement and wanted to go too, even though she didn’t even know where they were going. The four of them Lindsey, her mother and father, and baby sister all piled up in the car and headed to the airport. Once they arrived, they met up with Mr. Lakso and Mrs. Count. Lindsey and the teacher were already to go, and everyone else couldn’t wait to watch the plane take off. Just as they were getting ready to board the plane, Lindsey began to panic. Suddenly she became fearful and got butterflies in her stomach and made it clear that she didn’t want to go after all. Lindsey’s baby sister was overcome with excitement as she wanted to go, and so she started begging to go in her big sister's place. Lindsey agreed to let her take her place, but Lindsey’s parents talked her into going by telling her that Angelina was too small and couldn’t go alone. Lindsey agreed to go, but only because she wanted to look out for her baby sister. Lindsey’s parents watched in excitement, and fear, at the same time, as they watched the red tail lights of the plane fade, as it disappeared off into the distance. At first Lindsey was afraid, but her fears were put to rest, since her baby sister showed no fear and seemed to be having the time of her life.
