The Spider's Fly - Page 26/49

Finally the bells rang, and as the rest of the students exited the classroom, Lindsey and the other chosen students, stayed behind. As the students waited, Mrs. Count removed a bunch of boxes with unidentified contents, from a locked cabinet within the classroom. The students couldn’t wait to find out what was inside. The students watched in anticipation, as she opened the boxes and removed the contents. Finally the items were revealed. Crafts! They couldn’t believe the amount of stuff that was in those boxes, and all was purchased by Mrs. Count with her own personal money. There was enough of a variety of things that each student would be pleased. Mrs. Count spread out all of the crafts on a huge table, and called all of the students up to each pick one item that they would be interested in working on for now. Each student picked the item of their choice as Mrs. Count went around the room making sure that everyone received something. To Lindsey, and the other students, it felt like Christmas morning. Each student was satisfied with the item that they chose. Lindsey chose a crochet hook, knitting needles, and some yarn. Lindsey waited patiently, while Mrs. Count went around the room assisting each student with how to use their supplies to create their crafts. Since Lindsey chose the most difficult project to learn, Mrs. Count decided to save her project for last. The after school class was only two hours long. Unfortunately with such limitted time, Mrs. Count was unable to get to Lindsey before it was time to leave. As the rest of the students exited the classroom, Mrs. Count asked Lindsey to stay. Mrs. Count explained to Lindsey that the project she chose was much more difficult to learn than the projects that the other students chose. After confirming with Lindsey that she was sure that she still wanted to learn to crochet or knit, Mrs. Count assured Lindsey that since all of the other students were already trained on how to complete their projects, that would give her the full two hours of the next day to teach Lindsey how to complete hers.
