Mrs. Count’s idea was a fantastic one. She wanted to create an after school program that would be just for students that were exceeding the schools expectations for the grade that they were in. She wanted it to be a program that focused on learning new and fun things that weren’t part of the schools curriculum. She felt that since the school had an after school program for assistance to students that were behind their class , why not also have a program to benefit over achievers, or students that were ahead of their class. With only 3 weeks left of the school year, Mrs. Count decided that she needed to present her new idea to the school as soon as possible. Mrs. Count came in early the following Monday and presented her idea to the schools principal. The principal agreed that it was a wonderful idea and submitted a written request to the school district officer. After just a few days of going over the request, the idea was approved and an approval letter was sent to the school. Mrs. Count was overwhelmed with excitement and immediately began planning. It didn’t take long for her to create several fun projects for the students to work on. By the end of that week she was completely ready and really looking forward to the start of the next week. It was a beautiful Monday morning, and with just a couple of weeks left of the school year, Mrs. Count couldn’t wait for that school day to end, and get started on her after school program. Lindsey and the other few students that were selected to participate, were super excited. They kept looking at the clock in anticipation. The more they looked at the clock, the slower the time went by. They even saw the hand move backwards at one point. the last ten minutes felt like an eternity. You could tell by the look on her face, that Mrs. Count was just excited as her students, if not even more.
