The Spider's Fly - Page 8/49

It was a beautiful, sunny September morning as Lindsey and her mother finally arrived for Lindsey's first day of school. They could hear lots of voices as they approached the Kindergarten classroom door. The door was closed but they could still hear the teacher as she did her best to get it quiet enough to be able to speak, and be heard and understood. There was a lot of excitement, especially since it was every student in the class rooms' first day of school. As they approached the classroom door, Lindsey began to grow even more nervous. But for some reason, Lindsey became calmer, as the voices inside grew in number. Though Lindsey was in no hurry to start school, it seemed like an eternity watching as her mother turned the handle of the classroom door. Lindsey grew more and more nervous as they began to enter the classroom. Thoughts began racing through her head. Thoughts from whether or not the other kids would like her, to thoughts about how she was going to miss spending time at home with her mother. One thing Lindsey wasn't worried about, was whether or not her teacher would like her. Throughout Lindsey’s life, she always got along well with the elderly. For some reason, older people always took a liking to her right away and Lindsey’s Kindergarten teacher was an elderly woman. A couple of weeks prior to school starting, Lindsey and her mother attended the schools orientation, for entry into Kindergarten. While they were there, they saw the Kindergarten teacher and though they had never actually met or spoken to her, they could tell by looking at her, Lindsey wasn’t going to have a problem with her.The lesson to be learned here is to never judge a book by it's cover.
