The Spider's Fly - Page 9/49

As they entered the classroom, it immediately went from a noisy classroom, to complete silence.Lindsey's teacher (Mrs. Shockley) no longer needed to quiet the room. Suddenly all eyes were on Lindsey and her mother. It was a very uncomfortable position to be in, but that's just how it is when you are over an hour late to any event. As Lindsey was being seated by the teachers assistant, Lindsey's mother decided to take the opportunity to meet the teacher, and to give her necessary information about Lindsey. Everything seemed pretty calm, as Lindsey’s mother began to open the door to leave, when she was suddenly rushed by an extremely upset Lindsey. Mrs. Shockley quickly advised her "go ahead and go Linda, she'll be fine here". But it wasn't that easy. Lindsey had a firm grip on her mother's leg, and was screaming like she was being killed. At that moment, Linda knew that she had to take immediate control before things got any worse. With all of her strength, she pried Lindsey’s hands from her legs and immediately exited the classroom, closing the door behind her. Lindsey tried her best to leave with her mother, but her teacher immediately grabbed her, and held her there, until she was sure that Lindsey's mother, was completely away from the school. Lindsey watched in horror, as her mother left, but there was nothing she could do to stop her. Lindsey was embarrassed as she realized that she was making a complete fool out of herself in front of her entire class. She looked up and saw that all of the other students were staring at her in complete silence. Once she realized how embarrassed she was, she took a deep breath, decided to behave, and sat in the circle with the rest of her class.
