“She just lost her husband, I think she is crying for help.”

“No, when my mother cries for help it sound like, Flora where is my valium?” she said in a whiny tone.

Wondering why life always linked her with her grumpy and sarcastic cousin who never cared about anyone anymore, Angie snatched the cup from Flora’s hands. “You need to go out more often, do something with your life like getting married.”

“Ricky and I are taking things slow.” She said, dropping her feet to the floor and sitting up. “No wedding bells any time soon.” She concluded.

“I can talk to Ricky, you two need to get serious. Maybe if I can talk some sense to him, he can propose to you.” Angie smiled.

“That’s not a problem just show me your obituary.” Flora said with a stern face.

Angie picked up a strawberry and stuffed it into her mouth. She smashed it between her teeth with anger. “When will you ever take people who care about you seriously?” she asked, dashing a hand over her chin to catch a stream of juice that leaked from the corner of her mouth.

“Why do you want Ricky and I to get married so fast? No,” she said holding up a hand before she could respond. “Let me guess. You want to take credit and say it all happened because of you.
