"We're here," Owen said. He had pulled up right to the front of the Monument. I took out my gloves and put them on. Reaching under the seat I pulled out the mask.
Keith whispered in my ear, "Let's be careful, sweetheart."
I nodded, quickly kissing his cheek. Keith uncuffed Cyrus as Owen and Jake opened the doors, and pulled out the containers. Cyrus got out and stretched. I slipped on the mask and Keith did the same then we too got out of the van. Owen and Jake were already masked and they grabbed one of the containers then headed to the entrance.
Keith shut the van doors. We went to pick up the container, but I stopped, trying to think if I could manage carrying it with one hand. I worried that lifting with both hands would cause the stitches to tear.
"Don't worry I can handle most of the weight, just use one hand." Keith bent down, grabbed his end of the container and then stood up.
I grabbed the container with my good hand and lifted. "You sure it's not too heavy?"
"Nah, I'm fine." I waited until I was sure he had a good grip and then we slowly made our way to the entrance. Cyrus followed, I kept one eye on him.
Cyrus opened the door and we caught up with Jake and Owen who were waiting at the elevator. Cyrus pushed the up button and the elevator doors opened. It was a huge elevator so we all fit inside. We took the elevator to the top floor and stepped out.
Grey was standing in the middle of the room; four armed men were stationed at each corner.
"Riley," Grey and Cyrus exchanged hugs. "Good to see you my friend."
"Good to see you as well, Jonathan."
Owen and Jake sat the container down, Keith and I did the same. "Go down and check to make sure that the others have made the area secure. Then wait in the van," Cyrus ordered. Owen and Jake nodded and took the elevator back down. "You two wait over there," Cyrus pointed to us and we walked over to one side of the room.
"Why are they wearing masks?" Grey asked.
"They are afraid. They know what Anthrax does and refused to carry it up without protection."
"Do you have a mask as well?"
"Yes."
"So do I. You're sure the area is secure?"
"Yes, I sent my men in an hour ago. They took out the guards and security."
"You did good, Cyrus. Very good, I knew this would be a success. I booked us a red eye flight to Paris. So, as soon as we are finished here we'll leave."
