The Anthrax Scare - Page 40/46

"Take me then."

Grey began moving backwards towards the elevator. I quickly ran through my options and settled on one. "Not a chance. You're injured and even injured a threat. She on the other hand is no match for me." You think so huh? I stared at Keith hoping that all those times today that he had read my mind would pay off and he would understand.

Grey hit the elevator button. Keith began walking towards us and Grey pointed the weapon at him.

"Not another-" As he was distracted, I slammed my boot heel into his foot, he screamed as I elbowed him in the groin, and reached up and slammed my fist into his face. At the same time Keith lunged for the gun and snapped Grey's wrist as he wrestled the gun from him. I quickly stepped aside and went for my gun. Keith punched Grey as he continued to struggle and he fell to the floor unconscious. I checked his pupils as Keith restrained him then loosely cuffed him.

Keith pulled out his comm radio, "Grey's in custody, I repeat Grey's in custody. Send medical in, I'm in need of attention and so is he."

"Copy that," Amy said.

Keith walked over to me. I threw my arms around his neck and he held me tightly. He buried his face in my neck. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know and before I knew it he stabbed me and threw me backwards . . . I can't believe I almost lost you again, sweetheart," he whispered. I pulled back to see tears in his eyes.

"It's not your fault. I should've never turned my back . . . I was scared but I knew we would make it out all right." I put my hand on his cheek. "I almost lost you too."

He kissed me softly. I was going to kiss him back, but I remembered he was injured. "Your leg! I can't believe I forgot."

"It's a scratch. I'm a Marine, built tough." He gave me a half smile as I shook my head.

"Why don't you sit down, and let me be the judge of that?"

"If I sit down do I get a kiss?" He said playfully.

"Maybe," I teased. He sat down and rolled up his pant leg. There was a small wound below his knee; a little blood was trickling out.

Two medics, Owen and Jake got off the elevator. One medic came over to Keith and the other kneeled down beside Grey. Owen and Jake looked around and then stood guard over Grey.

"He's got a broken wrist, fix up him and then get him back to CTC," I ordered. "Also get some more agents up here; we got five causalities and a big mess."
