Shades of Deception - Page 108/118

Proving that he had the power to draw in women, he elected to place his profile on the site. After writing and perfecting his personal ad, he uploaded it along with a snapshot of himself.

His posting read as follows:

My name is Jamo, and I am single. As you can see from my picture, I am a handsome and well-groomed male. My aspiration is to meet a classy single female who enjoys going out and attending social functions. I attend a prominent university in Washington, D.C. and am currently working at my parents' car dealership. My interests are traveling and meeting new people in far away places. In two months, I will turn twenty-six, come into a large sum of money and plan to live abroad. If you would like to know more about me, send an e-mail along with your photo.

Jamo was quite proud of his ad and knew he would receive loads of responses.

What woman in her right mind would not take immediate action to my personal ad? he asked himself.

His photo alone was enough to make women, young and old, fall to their knees and be at his disposal.

Regrettably, his ego was about to get the best of him.

A cyberspace vixen was plotting to weave him into a web of lies and deception.

If Jamo thought he was the great manipulator, he was dead wrong.

He was about to meet his counterpart, and she would commit one of the most unspeakable acts that would make a man tough as nails breakdown and weep.

It had been a couple of weeks since Jamo was on-line. His parents had him coming and going at the company. Some of the salespeople were on vacation, so he could not get out of doing any work. By the end of the day, he was exhausted.

He was counting the days to draw on his trust fund and leaving this humdrum way of life forever.

Jamo had taken a couple of days off from work. He told his parents he was not feeling well and could do some of the paper work from home. Of course, this was not true. He had other fish to fry and went on-line to check his e-mail.

There must have been over three hundred responses to his personal ad. He started to read some of the replies. Most of them went into the trash bin and others to the maybe folder, but one e-mail caught his attention because it had an attached video.

When he downloaded the clip, it started to play:

"Permit me to inform you of my desire to meet you. I came across your personal profile along with your stunning picture and started to have feelings, which I have never experienced in my life, and this is why I decided to get in touch with you. I cannot imagine how you must feel receiving my video from a far away place. My name is Malana; I am 24, 5'8" tall and single. I live in Benin and speak French and English. I received my Degree in Banking and Finance. I enjoy going out and meeting people of different cultures, have traveled extensively and plan to visit America shortly. My interests are reading, jogging, listening to music, cooking, and going to museums and plays. I sense a strong connection to you and want to get to know you better. Please tell me more about yourself, your likes and dislikes, family, country, etc. I believe we can develop a connection that might direct us to be together. I wish to let you know that sincerity is very important to me, even though we might be thousands of miles away from each other. If you would like to know more about me, please contact me soon."
