Man Up - Page 202/268

"As a matter of fact you're right" Skip surprised him with his response. He quickly drunk up the remaining juice in his glass and got up. Jayden was all smiles watching him preparing to leave and then his face dropped.

"C'mon Mia, let's bounce" he said to Mia and every adult at the table turned away to hide the sudden laughter that threatened to come out at Jayden's sullen expression.

"What? Why does she get to leave with you?" Jayden boldly asked standing up and interfering with the old man's game. He would be damn if she left with him tonight. He had been after Mia for over three maybe four months and she had only offered to put him on a schedule, yet she was throwing it around free with this old geezer like it was Christmas and New Year.

Mia stood up too. Ordinarily she wouldn't have condoned a cockfight over her, but since she hadn't instigated it she found Jayden's strong reaction to seeing another man in her life very curious. If she hadn't known better, she would have believed that he was jealous. She wondered if there was a chance that he really liked her or was he doing this only because of a bruised ego and feelings of being rejected. She knew it was more than likely that to him it was all a contest to see who could get her in bed first.

"Good night everyone…Nita I'll call you tomorrow" She said as she allowed her father to lead her away. Jayden could only sit and watch as the two of them left together. He was beside himself and wanted to go after them and stop it. However Mia's words came back to him. She was right they didn't have that kind of relationship.

"What is that? Nita what's the relationship between the two of them" Jayden asked turning his inquisition on Nita.

"Of… I'm not in that… Ask Mia" she quickly stated her position all to Jayden's dismay.

"Sellout…" he mumbled under his breath as Nita laughed at his first jealous rant over a woman.

"Daddy did you see how all fired up he was" Mia couldn't contain her excitement over Jayden's reaction to her being out with another man; albeit was her dad.

"I saw baby, but that doesn't mean anything. He's probably mad cuz he thinks I got first dibs."

"I know but still it was good to see that he noticed."

"I thought you said that it wasn't like that with you two" her father reminded her of her words.
