"Here…" He said passing her the towel that he kept in his car.
"Thank you." She said taking it and dabbling at the water on her face and hair.
"Where do you live, I'll take you home." He told her.
"No it's okay… I can wait… ah-choo-ah-choo-ah-choo…"
"You're going to have pneumonia in a minute. Quit being stubborn and just tell me." He insisted. Mia hesitated. If she allowed him to take her home, there was a good chance of him running into Skip. She wasn't willing to tell him just yet that Skip was her father.
"Take me to my shop." Jayden looked at her.
"Hmm, guess it something or someone at your house that you don't won't me to see."
"Why do you think everything is always about you? Your ego is bigger than the world can contain."
"Then tell me where you live. You need a change in clothing; otherwise you're going to be sick."
"Is this Jayden worrying about me?"
"Now who has the big ego?" He retorted reminding her of her words.
"Look, let's not argue anymore. Just take me to my shop. I'll be fine." She said as she leaned back in the chair relaxing now that she had dried off as much of the water as she could. Jayden turned his head to look at her. He saw that she was slightly shivering. He flipped on the heat for her and then the radio. Mia had drifted off to sleep in the warmth of his car when she suddenly felt someone nudging her.
"Mia… Mia… we're here." Jayden's voice was soft. It almost sounded caring and loving. Mia felt warm on the inside at hearing him say it so tenderly. She couldn't help but smiling at the way he was whispering her name. It sounded like a warm embrace.
"Hmm…" She smiled opening her eyes and meeting his gaze.
"Here already?" She asked as she got out. It was still drizzling. She looked around and then realized that nothing about here looked familiar to her.
"Where are we?" She asked.
"My place… Since you wouldn't tell me where you lived, I brought you to my place for a change of clothing." He explained as he led the way to his condo. Mia hesitated. She had never been to a guy's house before. Would it be alright? Surely this wasn't a trick was it? Then she thought about not having her cell phone what would happen if she needed to call for help.
