Kill Fest - Page 66/133

"God damn it!" screamed ex-cop turned hired gun Jodi Richman who was delayed getting to Las Vegas due to airline issues coming out of her home city of Los Angeles. Upon hearing the news that she lost the chance to be the one to score Jason Bear, the one-time Vice Detective sat before her tablet for the next five hours. She knew that the next assignment posting would be going up so and she was not going to miss out on the next chance to score in the game. Until now, the young dark haired, dark complexion woman played the game like anyone else, by the rules. Do whatever the site said and hope to gain the points needed to win the grand prize. Her loss in Las Vegas told her one thing. Do not take anything lightly and be ready for anything.

She was the most disciplined of the rouge competitions, like Jimmy Vegas and Tom Crow, a self-made gunman who took on the life of a hired killer purely out of necessity. Two years earlier, she was caught taking bags of cocaine after a bust that she was involved in with intent to sell. She was brought to up on charges but beat the accusation by poor police work by others and a friend on the force who pulled strings. Still she lost her job as an undercover detective with the L.A. Vice squad.

Now the 29 year old found herself sitting and waiting for phase 3 in the Kill Fest clash of assassins contest. In her mind, better to play the game and win big than to keep being the small time hit girl for low life Mob wise guys peddling drugs and street whores. As she gazed down on her tablet screen, she knew the next assignment could post at any giving time and she was intent on being the first to make the next score wherever and whoever it was to be.

Like the other female in the game, Jodi was not very large or imposing like the big Russian or as skilled as a true trained assassin such as Stryker. She did however have a gun and skill on how to use it. Most of her hits were for the drug cartel she once hunted, now calibrated with were all self-educated by the seat of her pants actions. She found early on that anyone can call themselves an assassin but it was another thing to truly pull it off and have the balls to take another human life with no regrets or remorse.

There the site was just updating and the next appointment of death was coming into view. The young woman laid her pretty brown eyes upon the screen and soaked up all its info. "Well I'll be damned," she said to herself as she absorbed the information. Reaching into her dark jeans back pocket, Jodi withdrew her smart phone. She already had the airlines on speed dial programmed into the small device so it took no time to pull up information on a flight to New York City.
