A Walk on the Water - Page 153/186

"Rosemary what are you doing? This," he said pointing at Alannah, "wasn't part of the arrangement. She was supposed to remain unhurt and untouched, your hatred for my sister is going to bring us down."

"It may not have been part of the original arrangement, but things change, Eraldo. I wanted to see her squirm, I wanted to watch as lie helpless being as she was being raped."

"Rosemary this is not what we agreed upon," her brother said, looking angrily ar Rosemary. "I wanted her untouched, her husband would have paid a bigger price for her if she were not harmed."

"I don't care, she stole the man I love, she needed to pay for that."

Eraldo hauled off and hit Rosemary so hard that her cheek started to bleed. "Don't ever talk to me like that again. We will send a ransom to father all the same, and when he gets here to rescue her, I will slice his throat and take over his empire, just as planned. Then we will send another ransom to her husband, getting her back alive will cost him dearly." Alannah could see that the show of power was enough for him, he forced himself to calm down. Alannah knew this reaction, she knew that it was either this or the alternative of her being attacked again, and frankly she liked the idea of him calming himself down.

Eraldo sat down at the table, took two deep breaths and then pulled out pen and paper, he began to pen ransom notes one to their father, and one to Dominic. The one to their father was sent out immediately, after the messanger left Eraldo walked over to the mattress and yanked Alannah up by the hair, causing her to cry out.

"Hello, little sister, you are going to help me whether you like it or not." With that he took out a dagger, grabbing her hand he sliced it, when it started to bleed he held it over the note being sent to Dominic. "This will make the ransom even more believable."

Alannah spat at her brother, and he dropped her back down on the bed and kicked her square in the stomach. Alannah cried out, doubling over in pain she grabbed her stomach as tears began flowing down her cheeks.

When Alannah spit at Eraldo, Rosemary went on a rampage. Rosemary's rage burned red hot, and all she saw in front of her was someone that was in her way. Rosemary screamed like a mad woman, throwing the chair Alannah was sitting in against the wall, she tore into the dusty curtains that were hanging on the window. She started ripping the curtains to shreds and then threw them into the fire. And just when Alannah thought that things couldn't get worse, Rosemary knelt beside her on the mattress and just started attacking Alannah like a wild animal, ripping at her dress even more and beating her about the head and shoulders. By the time Eraldo pulled Rosemary off of Alannah, Alannah lay on the mattress all but nude and barely conscious. Eraldo threw a moldy smelling blanket over her badly beatten and bruised body, telling her to cover up.
