A Walk on the Water - Page 27/186

When Eraldo saw Erik leaving the loft on a daily basis, he started to be suspicious, Erik didn't have any girlfriends, he never had anywhere to be, so what would take him out of the loft at such a late hour, every day? Eraldo stayed out of sight when Erik would enter Mercy Hospital, he was about to give up when on the last day of his "stake-out" Alannah and some guy appeared. "Pay dirt," Eraldo began following them, plotting his sisters demise. He finally had the chance to ruin his sisters life as she had done his all those years ago. He followed her and the man she was clinging to for days, and just when he was about to act and kidnap her, they left. He knew that the man she was with would go down easily, so he wasn't worried about him. Now he needed to find another way to get to her.

Alannah and Nicolò left the next morning for the ship that would take them to the Caribbean. She was excited, her life of running could finally come to an end. With Nicolò by her side, maybe this time she would have a chance at happiness, and at her own life.

That evening found them on yet another ship, this one bound for the Caribbean, from where she hoped to catch a plane to Storm Haven Island Island. Thankfully there was no sign of Martin, although it had been two days since the ship departed, she still found herself unable to relax. She was sitting next to Nicolò on the ship, and leaned into him as they made their way to the Caribbean.

"We are here, Miss!" a porter said as he looked from her to Nicolò.

Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, Alannah strettched, and then grabbed her carpetbag, standing up Nicolò reached for her hand and the two of them made their way to the exit. As the sun began to rise on the second day of their journey from New York, the Caribbean air was warm as it mixed with the cool breeze from the ocean it promised a beautiful day. Alannah looked up at Nicolò and smiled, thankful that she had been reuinited with him on that fateful aboard the passenger vessel Serenity.

As they stood among the other passengers a tall dark haired man, glanced over at the young couple, and gave a half cocked evil looking grin. The first step of his plan would be put into play as soon as they stepped off the boat and onto dry land.

Alannah was wearing a tattered lace fairy woodland skirt paired with a silk blouse and a pair of off white Juliette sandals. When Nicolò and Alannah got off the ship they started asking about travel to Storm Haven Island Island, one of the crewman pointed them in the directed of a floating dock off the end of the pier. Nicolò asked where he could get some supplies and he was pointed in the direction of the strip mall. Alannah looked in the direction of the floating docks and Alannah could see the white tops of several aquatic aircraft that would rock and sway, as tug boats were churning up the water bringing small freighters into their place at the dock. Alannah gazed hopefully at a brand-new seaplane, in the hopes that which ever pilot owned the plane would take the two of them to Storm Haven Island. Nicolò gave her a kiss on the forehead and explained that they needed some supplies for the journey ahead, and he then went off towards the small strip mall.
