When they appeared through the door, she took up position in front of the bathroom ‘wall’. Xander made sure Diane was there before he charged like an outraged bull.
Her bodyguard managed to put herself between them. Alex grinned, then stepped aside as they crashed into each other.
Xander and Diane stumbled through the ‘wall’ that was in fact hidden double doors. It had been hilarious to see her bodyguard and brother tumble together, paint covering everything it touched.
Half an hour later, they stood in front of their father like little children. He was fuming like a gas bottle set alight. Every now and then she had to remind herself not to burst out laughing when her eyes strayed from him to her paint covered twin and bodyguard.

Shaking the memory, she exited. Heading towards the walk-in-closet built across from the bathroom. Upon entering, she clapped her hands once. Little lights came on like fireflies.
